When are vodafone gonna have the P900 available? Having just rung them they say release date is still to be confirmed. Worse yet, my upgrade date is 13th November, aaaargh. Who's gonna be the first to get one?

Yes

for a decent price,

No.

and will ship to the USA??

Yes

I suppose it all depends on what you call a decnt price. But expect to pay around EUR700-800 for a SIM Free.

Use the localised search engines (such as google.co.uk or de.yahoo.com) to find european or middle-eastern on-line retailes, get out your exchange rate calculator and good luck!

I must admit, Expansys' antics (particularly raising the price another 100) really irritates me. They did the same thing with the P800 when it first came out.. the first import units were 800+ as I recall.

I appreciate its "supply and demand" and pricing according to what the market will bear, but - quite frankly - its out of order imo. The P900, whilst great, is not worth 650 in my book.. and there is absolutely NO reason for the price hike.

The phone is $650 RRP for Christ's sake.. 650 dollars.. that's a direct dollar-to-pound conversion.

Madness.

I've been struggeling like crazy to get hold of one today...

Stupid nabour country have them in stock, but the shops I've been talking to refuse to ship over the boarder for some strange reason... Aaaaaaaaargh 😡

Well, the prices at the Dutch expansys are even more rediculous. Including VAT (in Holland called BTW) the P900 costs 1032,77!!🙄

Are you gonna give us a hint or do you want us to guess what webshop? 😉

Oh right, sorry, it's the Swedish webshop: http://www.alfadigi.com 😊

That's pretty good. GBP 520 (I take it Inkl Momms is including sales tax?). Do you know if they have the same problem that befell early adopters of the P800? People buying a Hong Kong P800 from the UK were told SE UK would not honour the international warranty.

Yes, inkl. moms means including tax (25% in Sweden), so when I order to Norway 25% will be withdrawn from the amount, and upon arrival to Norway, Norwegian tax (MVA 24%) will be added to amount. So at least shipping to my country won't surprise me with any additional charges, except shipping cost that is. 😊 In fact, when it's released in Norway the price will be even higher than what I'm paying now.

I'm not sure about Hong Kong P800's, but I can't see any problem with warranty over here, buying from Sweden, but of course I'm not sure when it comes to the UK.

SE UK took 3 months to warranty my UK P800, so I wouldn't bother with any other warranty, they are likely to throw it back in your face!

OFF TOPIC!!

So they did honour the warranty in the end then? Last I heard you were still without the phone AND the cash!

I got my new P900 at a local store here in Sweden last friday (31/10) at 810 including VAT (moms)

Here's the whole story from start to finish:

Phone died at Symbian Expo, sent to my local(ish) SE Service centre who had it for 1 month, in that time, they lost it, found it and lost it again, only for it to turn up at another service centre 3 weeks later (Celestica)...Celestica said "We can't fix it", gave no reason and sent it back. So I spoke to SE who said "Piss off, we're not replacing it, it's not a UK phone" I got fed up with Sony Ericsson saying that they weren't going to replace it, so I spoke to the shop when I bought it from they said "It is a UK phone", they also said "noting to do with us", so I spoke to their supplier who said "We'll fix it", who then came back and said "We can't fix it, so we'll send it to SE as it is a UK phone", who then came back and said "We're not replacing it", so the supplier came back to me and said "Sorry, here's a new phone".

All that took around 3-4 months, with no replacement handset, a no phone call from any of the people involved, I had to do all the chasing, hence my anger at Sony Ericsson (and the very first service centre) at the time.

I will be buying a P900, although i'm not exactly sure why after all the hassle I got from the P800, but it's just something I need 🙄 ...Well until something better comes along (7700)

Well, at least you got there in the end, and it hasn't damaged you for life.

Back on topic, extele.net have units for delivery on Nov 6th at 579 including VAT. Central European imports but full UK spec, manuals and warranty.

I got my P800 from these guys and there was some delivery slippage, but they actively kept me informed throughout and offered me a bluetooth headset at cost for the inconvenience. Which, given the general disaster of the P800 launch in the UK, ws pretty good of them.

Pretty good price, I think it's time for a new contract for me..so i'll probably wait until it's released on Orange (Which might be some time).

I pre-ordered one from Expansys sim free, but as soon as someone mentioned German Warranty, I ran a mile 😃

A Dutch website, says it will only be available at the end of November😡 So I guess we'll have to wait a bit longer here in Holland (unless we want that German one from Expansys...)
