I bought the 6600 a couple of days ago, and the Logitech bluetooth headset to go with it.
However - those two devices won't apparently work together. The phone and the headset pairs up without any trouble, but when i try to connect to the headset the phone just says "handsfree profile not supported by Logitech HS01".
This is a bit strange since Logitech claims the headset to work with almost every other Nokia Bluetooth phone (6310, 6310i, 6650, 8910, 8910i)
Has Nokia gone and changed something in their Bluetooth profiles that would make the Logitech headset incompatible with the 6600?
Are there any bluetooth headsets on the market that are known at this point to work with the 6600 other than Nokia's own HF HDW-2 which offers pretty limited talk time (3 h compared to the Logitech's 7 h) and isn't as comfortable sitting over the ear as the Logitech headset?
I had a similar problem with my Jabra Freespeak.
The answer, it appears, is that there are two different Bluetooth profiles for handsfree's. One is the "headset" profile, which is older and simpler. The other is the "handsfree" profile, which is newer and has more features.
Older handsfrees supported only the headset profile. Newer ones, like Jabra Freespeaks built after May of this year, support both.
Older phones only supported the headset profile. Most newer ones support both, but the 6600 apparently only supports the handsfree profile.
So, one handsfree that will work with it, besides Nokia's, is a new Jabra Freespeak.
Figures..
However, hasn't Nokia's phones always been using just the 'handsfree' profile? At least that's what I've thought the 8910 and 6310 did.. And a firmware update to the phone that would enable the 'headset' profile is probably too much to hope for.
I guess I have to return the Logitech to the store and start looking for a better (working) alternative. Pity, I really liked the Logitech design and ergonomy. But I like the 6600 even more..

I'd be really surprised if the newer logitechs didn't support the handsfree profile. Call them.
Jabra agreed to swap my freespeak for a newer one for 25% of the list price of the thing; maybe logitech will give you the same deal.
If they have a newer model, that is. I got the impression that the Logitech Bluetooth Headset (URL here) was brand spanking new. I'll try to get hold of their customer support to chek it out.
I was in contact with Logitech's customer support, seems like the headset needs a firmware upgrade to work with the 6600.
I'm gonna ship the headset to them for the upgrade now, hopefully it will solve the problem.
Does anyone have any new information on this? Is it possible to get a firmware upgrade? I have a Nokia 6620 and am experiencing this exact same problem: "handsfree profile not supported by Logitech HS01"
