This says that 7.0 har support for
HTML (html3.2, html4.0,frames)
xhtml
XML..
The 7.0s does not?
The 6600 har the 7.0s OS, so does it then NOT support html, xhtml, xml?
Then how the heck are you goin' to surf on that baby? 😉
I just don't get it..
(btw, me = completely new to this symbian scene)
It si the same in respect of the 7650 as these cant surf HTML etc... but the Opera browser app allows this functionality....and that is how the 6600 will do it - it comes bundles with Opera
I can confirm that you can not browse sites with frames or true html sites. The built in browser is very weak.
Opera comes pre-installed on the phone, but that's not very good either, despite the hype.
I have installed a trial of the Doris web browser and that seems the best by far, but it is only partly compatible with the 6600. Some bits of the software do not work correctly.
Note that what Symbian releases to licensees, does not all end up in actual products.
And it works the other way too; some products have added features that aren't in the original OS yet.
In other words, phone manufacturers that base their products on Symbian leave things out, change things, add new things based on their needs.
