When is GPRS actually connected?

One thing I don't understand about my 7650 is the GPRS connection thing. I set it up to connect to GPRS when available and indeed I get the little G under the reception indicator. When I truly need to connect to WAP sites then I get the same G inside a square.

Using the little application IpView I could determine that when I do a full connect I actually get an IP address. So what does it mean to be always connected to GPRS when available? does it have something to do with WAP Push and/or MMS? and while we're at it, does MMS use WAP Push to transfer messages?

Thanks,
Matan.

That means that any application thar needs to connect via GPRS to update some kind of data (imagine you're using a PIM application that uses internet to update your agenda) or connect to some server will proceed without warning or prompting any ind of message.l
