Read the whitepaper on the Forum Nokia link posted earlier. In short: 640x320 pixel screen resolution, touch-screen, newer Symbian OS, new/different applications.

NO. Nokia 6600 belongs to Series 60 Platform and runs Symbian OS 7.0

6600 is based on Symbian OS 7.0s (note the 's'😉 and Series 60 (version 2.0).

There is no "sysmbian 9" 😉 that I know of & most likely the next release after 7.0s will be 8.something.

7700 will be based on Symbian OS 7.0s and Series 90 (version 1.0, presumably).

Three questions
N-Gage, 7650 & 3650 are based on Symbian OS 6.1 and Series 60 (version 1.0). Am i right?

RoYaL21,you are right.The N-Gage,3650,7650 run Symbian 6.1 and Series 60 1.x.From what i've heard the 3660 will run Symbian 6.1 and Series 60 1.x(1.2 most likely).

its stuppid though, why not release those updates so we can update are phone with newer software (afcourze they wont do that, phone company's want you to buy a new phone instead.... )

Evert,smartphones haven't reached the state where you can install a new OS by yourself.Flash new firmware?Probably,but installing a new OS is another issue.
