mmmm.... selling it already....???? you hated the pc suite's connectivity thingy...???

ok pagemakers, now its scarin me only 5 days and ure sellin it i wonder y. i am plannin to get it, but i am so confused. can i like IM u somewhere need to tlk bot the phone in general thx. my email is [email protected]

I am gutted. I really wanted the like the 6600.....and I do. Just, the OS, I feel could be better and the data suite is so bad. What am I to do if I can't connect the phone to my PC? I need to sync data and install programs. Like I said I have got it to work on my laptop, but just getting to Bluetooth connection to connect is not as simple as pressing a button on the phone and saying connect. I have to enable BT, then I have to go to my PC and tell that to connect to my phone. That make take several attempts, then I have to open the data suite, then I have to sync. If I change something on my PC, I have to sync again, that's if the BT connection has not timed out. Then I have to re-boot the laptop to connect again. On the SPV I don't have any of the problems. I walk into the room and put the phone in the cradle. No buttons to press, nothing. Sync is complete in 15 seconds. I then change something on my PC or phone and sync is automatic, I don't need to do anything. It's also changing at the same time.

Bluetooth is so cumbersome. What makes things worse is there will never be a cradle for the 660 because it does not have any connections on it to connect to a cradle.

Like I have said before, if you like the 7650/3650 OS then this phone is for you. You will love it. If you think the 7650/3650 OS is limited or the operation of the phone slow, you won't like the 6600.

On the SPV I like the fact you can browse to every file on the phone through windows explorer. By doing this can change almost everything you don't like about the phone. There are so many tweaks available for the phone. The Nokia Data Suite does not let you do this.

For example, if you use a wav tone for a ring, both phones insert a slight delay before looping the wav file when it rings. This makes looping wav files sound horrible. On the SPV just use reg edit (free), and change to default pause from 3 to 0. Now there is no delay in the loop. Can't be done on the 6600.

Holy baby Jesus Page, 7650 OS slow!!! I have the SPV and it is a clunking POS compared to the Series 60 OS.

It is a very, very nasty phone, every now and then I give it a second chance and every time it reminds me how utterly useless MS are at writing software.

IF you are thinking of the new SPV people, DO NOT DO IT, THEY ARE CRAP!!
I'm not talking about nerds, they will love it, but for day to day use, it is almost unusable.
It was so fooked up in town last saturday, I had to borrow a phone to call a taxi, seriously here, I'm not an idiot, it just slipped into it's usual loop of despair and flatly refused to dial out, even after 2 reboots.
These problems are the norm with this lump of sh*te, and yes I have the update and it still destroys batteries.

Agreed the SPV does make you so mad you want to throw it at the wall. Yes battery life is awful.

If I had a video camera here I could show you the speed of the SPV and 6600 compared. Generally the SPV IS faster. I have both phones here.

The SPV is awful. The E100 is much better and the upcoming E200 should be fantastic.

Look how many times it too MS to get Windows XP or CE right 😉

SPV crap - that's a little bit unfair.

Lol, sorry Page you just wrote about the SPV at a bad time.

It is such a lovely piece of hardware spoilt by the OS, I'm keeping it in the hope someone writes a Symbian OS for it 😊

I'm the opposite. Give me the 6600 with MS 2003 in it.

PS: Did I say how wonderful the 6600's screen really is. It's the best I've seen on any phone by far!!

Does that mean you will except 349's worth of 128mb MMC's for the 6600? Or 349 including the 128mb MMC....Sorry i'm in a silly mood tonight.😉

I can code you an application that will make the 6600 crash periodicaly,on every 5 minutes and disable the phone feature on every 10 minutes.Maybe not the real thing but close enough to MS 2003.🙄

While you at it can you also make me an email program that is simple to use and polls the email server automatically, a proper PC synching program, a browser that is not just good enough for WAP pages, a decent fully interactive Today home screen and build me a USB docking cradle. Oh, yes, and a small fix to make sms messages vibrate on the silent profile.

Give me a shout when you are done 😃

I'm still waiting for them to do that.

I gave up on CE in the second Generation (it was too slow and crashed too often) but am still using XP, (by force at work) although I didn't seem to get the afore mentioned "RIGHT" version.
I can't forsee ever buying a MS cellphone.
