I'm still alive.....

Hi all, following from an e-mail from Ewan earlier I thought I'd best pop in and let you all know I'm still alive.

Unfortunately I've been having trouble with my laptop (shouldn't really be too much bother what with having 2 other PCs beside my bed....), anywho to cut a long story short windoze is getting rather flakey on it (rather is an understatement) and what with work and other commitments I've not had time to rape the laptop and take it back to a working semblance of a computer. With any luck I can achieve this tomorrow, probably trying Linux for the first time so I may need wishing luck.

Bah it's taken most of the day to backup the existing data on there before I can even think of installing. Didn't realise how much crap I've collected over time, the install will have to happen tomorrow after work.

Good luck SwitchBlade!BTW,Linux installers are very windows-like(GUI-ish) these days,so you shouldn't have any problems.

Problem is I hate the windoze installer. I've been running BeOS for years so going into something where I have to configure stuff manually for best performance seems very alien. But after trying various distros I'm currently feeling quite happy running Suse. Too much time has been spent setting up vital stuff like Wine running WinMX and Kazaa Lite. Next is connecting my 9210 to Linux then everything will be as I want it.
