hi all,
i have just got a 2nd hand 9210 given to me and was wondering what is the best way to 'clean' the memory ??
I have a lot of applications (i think) and was wondering if i am better off just deleting the applications one by one??
i am considering getting a 128chip but would like to know the going price at the moment and if there are any brands i should watch out for.
Also a question for the techies :- is it possible to use the phone as a monitor via the internet to your home security???
like checking the house via the cameras???
Any advise and help would be appreciated.
regards

hi all. need help on 2nd hand 9210 please
Hi. The best thing to do when receiving a 9210 in my opinion is to completely re-format the device - if you have the original software CD to re-install the software. If you want to do this, you just remove the battery, re-insert it, open the phone, wait for the hands to come up, and then push and hold shift+control+f until the phone askes to confirm formatting. But first get your MMC upgrade - I'm from South Africa and found an MMC card that is compatible - I think they all are. Compared to the original Nokia MMC card, the price was very reasonable. Buy any MMC card - it is a standard. Then format and re-install - if you have a 9210 without the (i), it is advisable to install the default software all on the MMC to save precious storage on the default memory. You will be prompted for the choices. Be prepared to install a couple of times before you are completely satisfied with your personal configurations. If you don't have the CD Rom, go to any Nokia site and download the latest versions of software for your firmware version. Do your preparation first, as with most actions.
Your monitoring question - You can do anything on the internet that you can do on a desktop - special Java, ASP etc within limits, so check your needs. The 9210 without the (i) has a rather limited browser though, so I use Opera for the 9210i rather.
I hope this gets you started.

hey guys,
i did waht you said about reformatting and have got the new software and a 128 MMC but how do i get the software ono my fone? also whenever i open anything it says: Note; Not found! hopw can i fix this?
Also by reformatting the fone what am i doing?
Hi there. Reformatting your 9210 is like reformatting your PC. You have nothing left on it. Then you link up with your PC via data cable or IR and select the install packages option. You do have all the software either on CD or download, right? Now select you packages - I think there is even a complete install option, which basically installs your phone as default. You can then add customised packages you may have downloaded. As I said in an earlier post - if you have the 9210 without the "i", try to load as much as possible on the MMC, the default "C" drive is very limited. The "not found" messages are for links that are not there - just do a complete cleanup.
