I picked up my P900 a week ago, great phone. But there was something missing a nice HF to go with it. So I checked out the HBH-200, SE's new bluetooth handsfree. It has a small display where you can see whos calling and even access the call list from the phone. I checked out SE's site to get some info and the P900 was a compatible phone, so I bought the HF.
Ofcourse it didn't work 100% with the P900. No caller id and no call list... Checked SE's site again and found no info on compatibility issues with the P900. It only says in fine print on one well hidden page that it doesn't perform 100% with the P800. Called SE and they said "but the P800 and the P900 has the same OS so ofcourse it will not work..."
Hate when they promote something as compatible and then say that it doesn't work... 😡 😡 😡
I read something about the 200 unit where if you update your firmware to the latest off the SE site, the 200 not only works, but displays Caller ID information as well.
Do a Google for "P900 Forums" and then search for P900 Firmware for details.
Just verified, if you update to the latest firmware, the HBH-200 CallerID works perfectly.
Yup all you have to do is upgrade your firmware!

I thought that was a joke!
😮 Ehrm, ok, now I get it, I think... 😃
Yup, the HBH-200 CID feature works fine once you've completed the firmware upgrade (don't forget to re-record your voice dials, otherwise that feature will not work).
I still have a few hiccups with the 200 though; every now and then a call comes through and doesn't ring through the 200, so I have to pcik the phone up, and occasionally the caller complains of a loud crackling noise (which I can't hear).
I think that the general rule is that BT is still a bit flaky, although I never had any problems with my trusty 6310i.
I have now upgraded my phone to the latest software (only took SE about 1,5 months to get the promised functionality to work...). The caller-id function now works but it still can't access the recent call list as promised...
