I bought a new P900 from Orange yesterday (Nov 7th).
It's not for me so I'm selling it.
It is absolutely immaculate, complete with all original software and manuals etc.
I will accept 400.
I am in Manchester, you can collect or I can ship worldwide.
LOL!, 6600 now the P900...what's next on the shopping list?, fancy buying a Honda Civic Type-R then selling it to me for 50% of list next week? 😉
Moving to correct forum 😊
You can't blame me for trying new things though!
I prefer the 6600, but at least the Sync worked on the P900.

Nope, not at all...I have been much the same in the past...I usually last a bit longer than a few days though, I had the Fujitsu Loox for a whole 3 weeks, the 9210i for at least 2 weeks.
don't you have 14 days piece of mind?
so are you saying the P900 is out on general release?

it's been on general release for a few days now; check out the p900 forum and you'll see
@the original dude of the thread...sorry, i didn't realise it was on upgrade, 😊
Returned to Orange - No longer for sale.
You list your phones like a whore would list her clients I dont think you are worthy of commenting on phones that you have only owned for two weeks, I could go into a phone shop for half an hour and know as much.....everyone knows that the true beauty of the phone only comes through when you are at one with it...
on another note...So did Orange give you a refund then?
P
I am very worthy of commenting on phones I have only owned for 2 weeks!
I WAS in the phone shop for considerably more than "half an hour" with a "Phone Trainer". Can it do this I would ask.....eeer yes was the reply, but we cant show you because there is no sim card in it. Can it do that I would ask.....errr Bill, can the P900 do that?
So I thought the best thing was to buy it and try it for myself. I did, and the phone is not for me.
Why, well with the P900...
You can't sync with multiple users of one Outlook and only sync say your contacts and not the other. Orange didnt know that.
Email links appear as un-clickable text, unless you open the flap and use 2 hands. Orange didnt know that.
You can't say download the first xx Bytes of ALL emails regardless of their size. Orange didnt know that.
There is no Today Screen software that works with the flip closed. Orange didnt know that.
Battery life in the Orange mag is quoted as 20 days STBY - Yeah right!
And lots of other reasons that Orange didn't know about and you can't test without a live sim card.
The feature I required were not in the 6600 either.
So mate I am very worthy of commenting on phones I have physically owned, compared and used thank you very much. Whore or not!
And yes, I got a full refund.
There is no need to take offence. I still stand by the FACT that you cannot know the phone fully until you have used it for a longer period of time. I am talking about the moments when you are out and about and you phone has helped you find the nearest cash point or has held a note with an address in that you need, or given the ability to show a friend an amusing animation, picture message or video. Being able to have the phone on you which takes a particulary good picture for the event you didnt know was going to happen but you have been able to record.
being able in some way back up your data and contacts, as long as you dont have to write them down. Being able to share your contacts and data with friends and colleagues either by infra red, bluetooth, email, sms...
and to supply any other functions which you might not have needed but now can find good use for them.
Instead you seem to be on an endless quest for a phone that doesnt exist. you seem very thorough and found some good points about the P900 which I bet many (including Orange) have missed.
but I am sorry having to use two hands to do something is a point worth noting but not worth giving up on the phone for, and as for apps not being available - then welcome to the new world of symbian - I wasnt complaining ten years ago that I couldnt take a photo qualtiy picture with a camera which contains no film and produce a hard copy picture of the same quality, I didnt sell my PC and Printer because it didnt do that, I went out and bought the computer which MOST suited my needs not completley fulfilled...so I take your points but you are going to have to stick to something because if you do so desperately need these functions and to have them with one device then you are going to need to pick something fast becuase it looks like you have wasted a good few weeks setting up phones with all you contacts and prefered stuff well someone like you surely cant live without it if it is so important.
if you are a phone tester then its a different matter and you are doing a good job.
Sorry for going on the offensive.
It basically boils down to the fact that I have an SPV E100 (yes I know many of you hate it). I tried upgrading to the 6600, but for me and my requirements the SPV was better. Then I tried the P900, but for ME the SPV was better. Now I am waiting for the SPV E200. Being and E100 owner, I guess there so be no rude surprises.
The reason why I buy the phones and sell on is for several reasons.
Most phone suppliers have no idea about the real features of the phone.
Reading forums like this help considerably, but what one person likes another will not, as in this case.
You cant really play with the phone properly in a shop, with every looking over your shoulder, you need to read the manual as well.
I don't loose and money selling on or returning for a refund.
No matter how long I have spent with the P900 (in this case 5 days), it will not do the features I require and have listed above. I can keep the phone forever and it will not morph into something other than a P900.
I agree, I am probably looking for a phone that doesnt exist. But if it did it would....
Look like the 6600 and have its screen
Have a non buggy MS 2003 OS
A keypad as good as the Samsung V200
A camera/video as good as the P900
Active Sync software
WiFi
Have polling email, Today Screen and Outlook's catagory synching feature.
Now that, I wouldnt take back - promise 😉
Thats cool I agree with all your points - I too cant get an impression of the phone in the shop, and the sales assistants are of no help.
I constantly ask sales peeps in these shops to sell the phone to me, I cant beleive I have to ask them to do this it should be their first point of call, but they hand you a P900 with no info like they might aswell be handing you a one2one Flare - What do you want to know it can make phone calls! - its not like that anymore.
I too am attracted to the idea of purchasing to try them out which I nearly did yesterday while trying to decide between a 6600 sim free or P900 on Orange.
So seriously I ask you your advice as another opinion and something not many people I trust on advising me.
I have a 7650 which I think is great. I love the Nokia phones, I love the simplicity of the operating system. I dont really need a PDA, although I find there functions attractive.
the only realy reason I need to upgrade my phone (apart from the fact that new phones are available - durr!) is that I am restricted by the memory on the 7650.
so do I buy a SIM free Nokia 6600 which would fulfill my needs however not be linked to orange so may hinder insurance plans, and other orange services...or do the orange upgrade for a P900? Both a the same sort of price.
If you like the 7650 OS I would buy the 6600.
It is everything the 7650 is much much more. Remember though the only way you can connect it to your PC is via IR or BT. There is no cable or cradle option (not even a connection of the phone). It will be on Orange within the next couple of weeks. It is already on their website.
Re the P900. If you liked the P800 you will love the P900. My main gripe about this phone is so much had to be done with 2 hands. It you don't mind that then your OK.
If I was forced to keep one, it would have been the 6600, although I have never hated a piece of software as much as the Nokia 6600 PC suite.
Thats great advice, thanks - oh I agree with the pc suite limiting and unstable are the two biggest understatements of the year for that software...I think I will wait for the 6600 on Orange couple of weeks is not going to hurt.
[QUOTE=Pagemakers]I bought a new P900 from Orange yesterday (Nov 7th).
The P900 is not worth 400 it is only available on contract at max of 249.00 dependant on your tariff,
But it was worth 400 at the time he posted the thread... 🙄
