i bought an XDA2 (O2 contract at the mo, only) a couple of days ago, and i kid you not, it is fantastic....it has everything i wanted the p800 to have...before you guys think about buying the p900, i seriously suggest you look at this little baby!

Be gone you <fill in your own insult>!

Seriously I've seen the XDA 2 too and for those that want that kind of thing I think its nice. Personally I don't like the form factor. The XD2 is a PDA with a phone and the P900 is a phone with PDA powers. Its very much a personal thing but the P900 would always win it for me simply because its a better shape for what I want it for.

Rafe

Sorry Rai, one fly in the ointment, it use Microshites OS, it will soon slow down, fuck up, lock up and genarally drive you to despair.

This is not a prediction, it is a guarantee.

They all work great at first, pocketPC/smartphone/xda, then the troubles slowly start.

I've had them all, and can tell you that this will come to pass.

Behold RAFE LOL

and yeah i agree that's what i;m always tellin' my friends it's a phone with PDA features not a PDA with a Phone features

i like this sentence very much 😛 😛

I like the look of the XDA2 very much, it even has VGA output 😱

But i'm a little worried about battery life, they claim days, but having owned various PPC's in the past, that usually means 6 hours max, especially when you throw GSM into the equation.

I guess the new Xscale processor helps quite a bit, but all the resarting, and crashes put me off completely, plus the fact that it is too large for me to carry round on a pub crawl, fun though it maybe. 😊

on average use, the battery seems to last about 2 and a half days...it has crashed a couple of times on me only due to installing some software that is meant for older versions of pocket pc's....i still dont understand what the manual means when it says that you have to make sure that the battery does not run out fully "or you will loose programs and have to reinstall" ???!!! .....apart from that, happy I made the change(so far)...i just found the p800 too fiddly to use, maybe it is just me.

That's correct. If you let the battery go to 0%, and you won't put it on the charger immediately, you'll lose the internal memory. I had that on my Toshiba e310 as well.

Yup, hence the "Recharge, or else!" warning that Ghostdog was talking about.

And as for 2 days+................. User posted image

LOL!

BTW:Aside from usual RAM storage,My iPAQ H3870 had a special 6 MB od ROM,called iPAQ files store just in case of the "Recharge, or else!" warning.Does the XDA II have a similar feature?

I've been using the XDA 2 for about a week and I am very impressed.
Battery life is quite good, there's a little file store where you can store all your contacts and all, and you will lose data 72 hours after the battery dies 😃
Beats the P800/P900 hands down 😎

Let me quote what my friend said: User posted image

can you switch batteries on the XDA?

What happens if you pull out your battery, the phone forgets EVERYTHING?
