Moving Programs/Files

I'm using a P800 and my friend uses a Nokia 3650. I was wondering if i could download Series 60 applications and save them into a folder on my P800 and send them to her N3650 via bluetooth so she could just open them on her phone and use them.

Would this be possible?

of course, you'd just be using the p800 as a hard drive, you'll need something like file manager though or if you have a p800 file manager, create the folder anywhere as long as you know where it is, then just send the files to it from your pc and depending on how you created the folder, you can move the files in manually if you bluetoothed/infra red them over, or if you used the pc file manager, you can just move the files to the designated location straight away, then just access the file through a file manager on your p800 and go to "send as"

Thanks! The n3650's a pretty cool phone. Unfortunate though that the sales package doesn't come with a pc cable. That solves the problem of how we could move Series 60 apps into my friend's phone.

Another concern would be how to install the applications/programs if I send them via Bluetooth to a Series 60 phone. Would a ".sis" file automatically install itself onto the phone/device its being sent to? Or does the N3650 need a preinstalled file manager to be able to open/access the programs beamed to it via Bluetooth?

you'd have to use something like infra red or bluetooth or umm, possible email it yourself and then load it with your phone and then forward it to the 3650, when your 3650 recieved the installation file, it'll just say it's recieved a new file and it will ask whether you want to install it or not, whether you install it or not, it will stay in your 3650's inbox

I just tried it; the applications I sent via Bluetooth were installed flawlessly into the Nokia 3650. Quite amazing, IMO.

Thanks.
