software to replace connecting tone?

5 replies · 3,998 views · Started 11 November 2003

just wanna check if there is this software that can replace the currently "ring ring" connecting tone when u are waiting for the person to pick up your call when u phone him.Hope there is a software for that so i can replace a dog barking sound or something like that....
hope to hear some view from someone...or somebody can help me on this...........

If I understand you right, what you are asking is usually set by the network you are calling.

Example:- I call from my phone (Vodafone) to my works phones (BT) the ring I hear is set by BT and not Vodafone. So you would be unable to subtitute this sound.

It would be like asking for a different Engaged sound (i.e. Only possible for the Networks themselves.)

Nice Idea in Theory Though! 😃

i understand that there is already some service provider doing that in some asia countries like hongkong & china & u can just browse the pages & u can see the provider earning monthly subscriptions on that!so what i hope if we could modify the tones ourselves by developing such softwarea & don't let the providers earn our hard - earned money so i can buy better 3g phones in future.......eg mobile answering machines software can work so that service provider can't earn our money,u get what i am sAYING?..........

Launching on T-Mobile in December. You will be able to select the track you want to replace the ringing tone.

I set it up about 15 mins ago and it's supposed to be effected within 10 mins...but it's not!!

we'll see...if anything at least it'll confuse people when they phone me and hear it for the first time!
