GPRS internet tested with Opera (Philippines)

9 replies · 4,840 views · Started 12 November 2003

I just tried this morning, I was able to browse using Opera browser. and wap.

Just send to 211

1. "SET GPRS n6600" then send

2. "SET INTERNET" (for Internet over GPRS) then send

Set your phones GPRS MODEM SETTINGS (under settings) to define INTERNET as your GPRS access point.

It has a pincode which is 1234 (default).

Opera works great, It's too bad it doesn't come with the Asian models of the 6600. UNFAIR!!!

Anyone knows if prepaid GPRS internet connection available and can be set up on my laptop through Smart or Globe? I'm from T-Mobile US and can't afford to pay $15/meg roaming. Thanks!

Should it be a problem to connect to the net via GPRS via the Opera Browser .. here in denmark there is no problem you dont have so sent any 1234 codes and etc just make the GPRS your default (or wap) and then your online.

You should try visiting www.kitikitext.com there are lots of free stuff there for series 60 phones. like free mms, free polyphonicringtones, free wallpaper, free themes and more. the site looks great even using your default browser... much better when using opera....

thanks

I think that you should get smart and then send an activate message code to a certain number and then once your gprs is activated it should just be easy.

You should try using bluetooth than IR for faster communication.

I've tried it before.

Using the Bluetooth tray icon, quick connect to dial-up networking... use *99***1# as the number to call. No user id and password needed.

Let me know if still works or if you have any problem.

thanks!!! I'll try it!!
