I've just bought a Nokia 6600 and I'm trying to copy all my messages (457 😃 ) to my new phone. There's no way to do so by hand and the only thing I think I could work is:
Copy C:\System\Mail
Paste it to Zip anywhere else in C: drive
Send the *****.zip to the other phone
Unzip it in E:\System\Mail <-- so that the messages are kept in the MMC
BUT
Anytime I try to paste it eFileManager 1.62 hangs.
Does anybody know how can I do this??
Have you tried doing it in smaller bits? and close down all unnecessary processes. Maybe in flight mode??
I use Fexplorer, but sometimes it has hung on me when trying to open a large file.
Ueehh man, DONT do this !!!!
and be happy, that your file-man. was not support it.
The mail-strukture and the folders are real different from the
OS v.6.01.
Even if u would copy it from one 76 to another, the mobile would in worst case crash down.
Or the messages-app. would always show:
system error.
The serie 60 OS v.7.0s is in many cases different then the old one.
not only what users like us see, also in the files self:
The codes are optimized,etc.
Take ones a look only with app-man. intoo the differents of the kb. of the same apps.
(like mail,autolock,sis-app.,etc)
then u can imaging how near u was from a crash of your new mobile with this funny idea.

Cant you try to save the messages on your Sim-Card and copy them bit by bit? (It would helb a bit at least, i quess...)
Or send them via BT??
It took me an hour and a half to transfer all the files and the directory structure from one phone to the other ONE BY ONE!!
I used FORWARD and eFileManager to do it.
I DO disagree with Smi.Everything works fine, even the mails with attachments I had saved.
a pretty funny coinsidence is that your postcount is 457, which happens to be the same as the number of messages you had on your phone... 😛
Can you explain how you did this transfer of the mesages? I have installed forward and eFilemanager on my 7650 and I cannot figure out how you did the transfer.
I really would appreciate an explanation.
Thanks in advance
