P900 wouldn't boot up!

12 replies · 2,758 views · Started 14 November 2003

Hi, I've got the P900 just today, and charged it for quite some time but the device wouldn't boot up! I'll try to charge more and see, but in the meantime, does anyone know what happened?

Damn Accela, now you got me worried, my P900 is on its way and that would just freak me out if it doesnt boot up!!! 😕

You've put a SIM in?

Yes, obviously, besides, if there isn't any SIM card, it will say so and not remain black all the time.🙄

BTW: I think maybe its the charger, can someone tell me if there is a LED that lights up during charging? Cuz mine have no reaction at all, yet when I put it on the syncstation, the yellow LED on the station lights up..

Sorry Mus, but I'm rather desperate myself, I've to get this going, synch my contacts and stuff, and format my laptop asap.

Yes, a light should come one. The top right LED should light up Red initially, then change to green once it has enough juice to actually boot-up the phone. Though, from new, when the battery is completely dead, it may take a couple of minutes for even the red LED to light up (I believe when you open the box there is a little "Quick Start Guide" lying on top of everythign else that details all of this).

Plug it in, don't try to turn it on for a while (!!!) and if, after ten minutes or so, you don't have a red LED, then you've probably got either a dud charger or a dud unit.

But you shouldn't really try to run it until you've charged it for a good three hours or so anyway (tempting though it may be). You'll get much better battery life if you leave it to charge for an hour or so after it says it's fully charged the first time you do so.

this just happened to me too, i could have sworn i nearly shitted myself because as the p900 is new, i'm expecting lots of bugs and stuff, but i just left it on the charger for a few minutes and the charge bar showed and i was back up again...yay

Okay, I've got a dud charger, because when I got the phone, I tested it, on it and all, so it shouldn't be the phone.. I left the thing to the charger the whole night and no LED.

I'll call the shop right now, and get myself a SideWinder charger from DOML on the way later.😉 Okay, called, he said, bring back and exchange a new one, plus test it for me.

I had same problem with my P800 charger, and it was fixed by shaking the charger while it's in the AC socket or sometimes moving it (like u r gona unplug it, but u don't) till I see the battery icon starting to charge.. try it, might help

have you tried wetting the charger? it makes the electrical current more active😊

hey .. do u wan kill the guy?? 😃

It ain't the charger, it ain't the battery, its the device itself. Got a new set in exchange though, and its working fine now.

phew! My boyfriend is going to get his on monday... hopefully, he wouldn't encounter the same problem because there are only 5 units available and all are reserved!!!
