Can anybody help? My phone was all nicely connected to my computer via. the USB and all the pc software worked. Now however the software does not recognise my phone?? I have i uninstalled the software and re-installed it but it just does'nt recognise my phone. even though the phone connection link in the tool bar is saying it's connected. I have asked Sony Ericsson but i'm sure it will be a week before they reply.

Same here. It will say that is is connected but then nothing still happens!!! This is really annoying as I want to install some applications on to it!!! Does anyone have an answer?
I looked on another forum and someone kindly assisted..........here you go........
Open your control panel, then open "printers and other hardware"
On the left under "see also" click add hardware then start the wizard and connect your phone. It should automatically connect.
It worked for me anyway i hope it works for you!!!!
No forget above it was obviously just luck as it's back to square one! My phone will not connect again even though it's shown connected in the taskbar........... Now i am bloody annoyed as it was working fine for the first couple of days
Ok Ok. I think it's finally sorted.................
1- I disconnected the usb cable.
2- I then removed all the sony ericsson software from the computer, remembering to check the hard drive for any leftover files.
3- I then disabled my virus/firewall protection
4- I then re-installed the software (not connecting the usb yet)
5- Once the software was installed i then connected my usb and voila! it recognised and set up the phone again..........
For now all appears well, i've been testing over the last hour or so and no problems.

do you mean to disable my internet firewall and my anti virus software? And after installing the software, can I enable them again?
Yes that is what i meant........HOWEVER the problem has happened again so it was unfortunatly only a temporary thing. I think if we are both having the same problem there will be others so i am going to phone sony ericsson tomorrow to get a answer to this matter. When i get a reply i will post here. Keep your eyes open. In the meantime if you solve the problem let me know.

Um ok well i am actually going to head to the service centre to pick up my phone because when I bought it, there was like a little scratch that I thought was dust underneath the screen. I will be asking them about this issue too. Lets keep each other updated then.
