My phone keeps calling the cops and i don't even touch it... what the hell..

You can probably phone 999 (or 112, or 911, or whatever the number is) when the keys are locked. So it's probably calling the cops when it bumps against things in your pocket.

Amorya

yeah - I've done that a few times myself, it VERY easy to dial 999 without knowing, even with keylock on.

I bet they must get pissed off at the 999 switchboard!

😊

Hmmm pretty pointless if you ask me :/ defeats the purpoe of a keylock

But majorly useful during an emergency.

Not rearlly anyone who cant press Menu - * or hold a lock button for 3 seconds probably wont have the IQ to dial 999 and perform an emergancy call.

LOL your probably right 😃

But then thats all down to the radiaton thats affecting our brains (HONEST!) 😛

I actually experienced this myself on my old 3650... 4 times to be exact... it had called 112(police here in norway) and at the time of all those calls,I didn't even have the phone on me... it was laying on the table!! My first thought was that somebody had played with it (like my 3 year old nephew) but later on I found out that noone was in my room at those times..

My sollution to this problem was: I sold it and got 6600... 😃 It hasn't happened since.. 😃

What if you are injured in a car accident and only person who arrives to help you doesn't know the brand of your phone or what's worse, hasn't used any mobile phone before? Most people know the emergency number but not everyone knows how to release keylock of Nokia or Motorola or SE or...

Yes but anyone who cantlook for a unlock button or read the screen probably wouldent know you have to press "SEND" or "CALL" the initate call button is different on every phone too 🙄

You may also find that even though your local emergency code is 112, dialing 999 will also connect you to the emergency operator.

Wow.. cool...
Thanx for the tip!Didn't know this till now..! it worked..1 😊

All EU countries use 112.

However, probably due to American television programs and movies, 911 works in most countries even they have a different emergency number of their own.

And since it is mainly the same hardware & software (except for language variations) that ship everywhere in the world, most phones allow emergency dialing with multiple, most commonly used numbers even if the phone/keypad is locked.

The thing I'm wondering of is why 999 works as an emergency number? what country uses that number?

and, here we have 3 different phone numbers:

110- fire department
112- police
113- ambulance

now, which one of those will be dialled by the 999 combination? 😊
Don't really wanna call them up just to check that.. 😊 they get kinda pissed of... hehhe

Not quite true to say "All EU countries use 112" - the standard number in the UK is 999 for Police, Fire and Ambulence - we Brits just like to be different! 😉
