Ok, I think I just thought of an Idea to solve the contacts problem.

Softwares needed:
SE Latest Sync Program
Epocware Filemanager

Hardware
MemStick Duo 2 Pcs
P800
P900

Process
1.) Backup both phones first to make sure you have something to restore to if something goes wrong.
2) Backup the P800 duo using the backup and restore program, while doing this open filemanager by epocware, copy your contacts.cdb (its in C>system>Data>contacts.cdb ) file to your PC
3.) Do the same think with you P900 except that you will now copy your contacts.cdb from PC to your P900 while backing up the duo of the P9.
4.) Voila!

The reason why you have to do it while its backing up the duo is that its the only time the phone will allow you to edit contacts.cdb bec its not running the phone application. Im going to try this later, still backing up now!

For those of you who dont know why im doing it the hardway when you can just sync with outlook and skip the nitty gritty, its because in outlook you can get the folders/categories you set. I have around 10 categories with almost a thousand contacts Dont want to go through the hassle of doing them again

Hey!! I did it guys!! The epocware ap does work, eventhough it doesnt have the P900 as an option!

I just had to restart the filemanager to get it to work..
In detail:
Make sure to put something on your memstick to so that it will take awhile to backup to give you lotsa time to copy the contacts.cdb from your pc to the P800. Then make sure you backup the Phone and the duo, will edit the above instructions to make it clearer. Wait until the phone shuts down, then it says backing up, then open filemanager quickly, go the right folder c:\system\data\ then paste the contacts.cdb there.

After I did this and it continued on backing up then paused with an error. At first I though I failed in this experiment, had to cancel the backup, it asked me to skip some files so I just cancelled it, it gave an error on my P9 and quickly restarted my P9 saying it had to do so to imrpove the performance of the phone. After that I opened my contacts and voila!! It was there!!! 😊 Then I backed up the phone again and there wasnt any problem anymore!!! Yeah Baby Yeah!!!!

Hope this helps future owners of P9's from P8's!!!!

Warning, I am not responsible for whatever will happen to your phone. But I did it and it worked for me hassle free!! 😊

SE Latest Sync Program v 2.smthing
Epocware Filemanager

Hardware
MemStick Duo 2 Pcs
P800
P900

Process
1.) Backup both phones first to make sure you have something to restore to if something goes wrong.
2) Backup the P800 Phone including the duo using the backup and restore program, while doing this open filemanager by epocware, copy your contacts.cdb (its in C>system>Data>contacts.cdb ) file to your PC. Close Filemanager.
3.) Do the same thing with you P900 except that you will now copy your contacts.cdb from PC to your P900 while backing up the duo of the P9. Make sure to wait till the phone restarts and says backing up before opening Filemanager. You will encounter an error after succeful pasting of the contacts file, you will be ask to skip lots of backup files, just do so and cancel the backup after. Your phone will also give an error and quickly restart and say that it has just restarted to improve the performance of your phone. This is ok. When you open your contacts everything should be there. Then try to backup again just to make sure, I did and the backup was now succesful!!! 😊
4.) Voila!

Enjoy!!!!

why don't you guys just go to the contacts, "send this folder", then send it via any option appropriate, then send it to the new handset, and accept all contacts,

Well for one, it will really take a long time to send about 600-1000 contacts that way, and if you only have one sim card in hand, you will not be able to turn on the other device ro receive it 😞
