Games - Good or Bad?

56 replies · 10,966 views · Started 23 November 2003

We havent really had much discussion on the games. I know theres a multimedia forum for doing that, but this is specific to N-Gage users (it shud be anyway 😉)

Right, just say which games you own or have played and your opinion on them. This saves loads of time and effort having to read through the hundreds of threads regarding the same topic.
Also if you have any news about upcoming games etc. leave a post.

Hopefully this will bring a little more life to the N-Gage forum, and help those who cant make there mind up.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TombRaider - Crap! Amazin graphics, but really hard gameplay. I never played it on pc or psx so maybe im not used to it.
SonicN - Good! Amazin 3D graphics, but little hard to play due to screen size. You cant see what your about to hit

Tony Hawks Pro Skater - AWESOME! Great graphics, great gameplay.I usally get to play it when my little brother is a sleep because i don't own an N-Gage 😃

Tony Hawks Pro - FANTASTIC! I shall never be bored again! Its identical to the psx version! (just about)

Super Monkey Ball - Good. Pretty basic game, not alot to it. Got bored after 10 minutes of playing. Not worth 30!

SonicN - Average Good graphics but i think it was better on Sega GameGear... i was faster and it has a smoother play. SonicN is good too, but i think there is no graphical improvement from years ago on GameGear. you can pass the first level just pressing forward and 2 or 3 times jump button. But i like Sonic 😊 what can i say 😊

Tony Hawks Pro Skater - WOW - The best game i`ve ever played outside my home... fantastic graphics and very good gameplay. i am playing it more and more and more 😊

Pandomenium - Great I was a big fan of pandomenium and i really like it 😊 good graphics and good camera views during play. maybe everyone won`t like this game but i like it.

Tomb Raider - Disappointment Awesome 3D graphics... but but but... Too hard to play... It was hard on PC. But it is hard as hell to play on an handheld...

can't get the colours right so

Moto Gp-I loved the xbox version and playing this over bluetooth is amazing, almost as good as playing over Live. Good graphics, decent gameplay, the only letdown is sound but I thin this is a recurring theme throughout all N-gage games. Toys'r'us are doing this plus mlb slam for 30 which is a great deal in my opinion.

Puyo Pop - Weird/Funny - i found this game weird when i first played it. but after playing it with my cousin via bluetooth, i enjoyed it more... i think this game is not very good but it is fun when it is playeed withs someone else...

GEOPOD - A fast POD Race - this is a really cool game i think. Graphics are good and game is fast. but it is a bit monotone the tracks are too small and looks like a bit same to me. Controls are good too. orth to try... good for small timeperiods, maybe while waiting for someone who will arrive in 2 minutes. 😊

MSG Steel Warrior - Great! - i had lots of fun while i was playing it. the contols are a bit hard for the first time but after used to it, it is a very good game. It looks like AfterBurner from old amiga days 😊

I have Pandamonium, Tony Hawks, Sonic, and tomb. I like them all. Pandamonium is cool as hell and Tony Hawks is the best of em all. Tomb raider is so damn hard I am looking for cheats or help. Sonic is sonic no brainer fun for a quick trip in the waiting room at the dentist office..

Oh yeah, I've been paying about 34.99 each, for all of em.... I have them all on one 128mb mmc with 1 hour of music....coool eh?

bit risky that last comment. Did you crack them yourself, or did you just download them? BY THE WAY I AM NOT ADVOACATING CRACKED N-GAGE GAMES BEFORE SOMEONE GOES ON AT ME. Anyway why would you say something like that in this sort of place? I don't think theres anything wrong with it if you have a legit copy, but..

My understanding (i don't know cos i've only got 1 gamecard and never tried it before) is that if you have a card reader you can save the games to your pc, then read them back to a larger memory card - it's not illegal because you're not cracking the games, just creating a backup copy for your own use. Like i say i don't know how accurate this is..........

it is legally allright to create a backup copy to protect your original copy from damaging or other effects that will make the original one unsuable. (but i think this has a limit of up to 1 copy, not more)This is not cracking. but if you download the game from internet and by using a 3rd party software yu run it it is illegal, because you paid nothing to use and copy a copyrighted material. omegaman uses his own rights. so you can do it too.

r you sure about that? doubt nokia would be too pleased either. Also, seeing as people think having copyrighted gameboy games is illegal, then surely this is the same. Maybe its just a bit of a grey area. But if you say so

if you buy some copyrighted material, you are not allowed to copy and distribute this material. but for your own usage you can create copies (just for your usage only, not for distribuing to everyone.). as i said, if somehow your original material is damaged, it will cost you very much to get a new one (if we are talking about n-gage games it is over $40 for each game. ). if you paid full price for some copyrighed material no one can tell you how to use it for your own purposes. for example if you buy a book and if you like some parts of the book very very much. and you photocopied some pages and hang them to your wall. no one can say "why did you do that?" or no one can call this illegal. same thing for every copyrighted material. if someone does this he/she will be interfering your privacy 😊

I was thinking of getting the games tony hawks pro skater and tomb raider for christmas but i have heard tony hawks is good but tomb raider has mixed reviews and i want to know if it is worth getting it because i know pandemonium is out and red faction is out soon and want to make the right decision i have also heard that tomb raider has very hard gameplay is it really just hard that it effects the game or does the gameplay improve with practice.

tomb raider is really hard to play. if i was you, i would prefer THPS and pandomenium. if yu can wait, you can wait for red faction instead of pandomenium. but i will say, buy pando and THPS ant christmas. and buy Red Faction too after that 😊
HOORAY FOR N-GAGE 😊

I have bought all my games! I have found a way to move them onto one mmc from another forum..

Tony hawks is Major Domo Cool, but Tomb has a lot to offer for the serious player. Tomb is the same as the old PC or sony PS game.. If you have time and patience Tomb is really a awesome game.. how they fit it all on so little mem is a mystery!

Some of the other games are just not worth the cash... Pouy Bop and such are cool just not the hit 3d heavy stuff like pandamonium and THPS and Tomb!

I agree with you all about the piracy issue. Its perfectly legit to create a backup of something you own. Its just like vcd's. As long as you own the original dvd, theres no problem creating a backup of it as a vcd.

I also agree with omegaman, Tony Hawks is the best game so far. Go for that one!

And just to set one thing straight, as far as im aware, the ngage games as a backup would have to be played on a memory card the same size as that which they were copied from, so without the help of a third party app (which isnt available), it is just about impposible. So buying the games and returning them after copying them is out of the question 😃

I have heard there is a Doom game download for Ngage is this true and is it any good as I will have to buy Red Faction after xmas and this sounds like the next best thing.

What do I need to play this.

I downloaded the doom.sis file, the two core files, the sound file and the two level files and when I try run the game it says "Data files are missing. See Help for details"

Read the Readme file, the procedure of installing doom is clearly explained there. In short, the .sis files have to be installed in specific order.

If you installed it to MMC, you need MMC patch to make it work from MMC.
