P900 Case

I don't suppose the P800 cases fit the P900 properly do they?

One of the biggest expenses with the P800 was that, not only did I fork out over 500 for the phone, but then another 40 for a case, 65 for a MSDuo, 10 for a screen protector. Not to mention all the software etc.

Obviously most of the software can be moved over and the DUO can be used again, but another 50 for a case and screen protector on top of the asking price would hurt!

Do Piel Frama do a P900 specific case yet?

The SE P800 original (beltclip pouch) case fits fine...the Kreusel case (beltclip pouch) fits but is a bit loose...I tried another (can't remember the name) where the phone syays in the case and you unclip it to use whic also fits fine...

I guess that's a round about way of saying that the cases fit!!!!

Cheers
Nick

the ARM P800 case doesnt fit, the pouch that came with the P800 does fit, the rest are too loose 😞 I bought a standard belt holster bec I didnt like the one that came withthe P900, dont trust it.. anyway the one I bought only costs around $3 😉

This might be a little off topic, but in order not to lose the MSduo's in the p800 Piel Frama case, I simply inserted the small plastic cover (that comes with the 16MbDuo in the SE box) into the MSduo-hole in the leather. When you then insert your duo into the plastic sleeve, it will have a tighter fit.

don't know about u guys, but my P900 came with SE beltclip lethear case and it's cool and tight, doesn't that do the job?

Not when you have to take the phone out of the case to utilize it.. These cases allow one to keep the phone inside the case at all times during usage.. The reason why that might be helpful is in the case the phone slips out of your hand and falls. If you take it out of the case and it falls then you risk your phone breaking.. My phone has slipped out of my hands numerous times while using it, but luckily it was in the case at the time...

I bought my phone from CPW UK, it came with a case.

Don't they all, it was packed inside the box which was sealed and it has a Sony Ericsson label on the inside!!!!

Yes all packages come with a SE P900 case.. However, I don't believe most have been fans of the generic SE cases.. The importance to me at least is that I have a case that allows me to use the phone while the phone remains in the case. Most may not consider this a necessity, but with any fully enclosed case the phone is only protected when the phone is in the case.. Prior to getting my case I actually have had the phone slip out of my hand after pulling it out the case.. I was fortunate that the phone didnt suffer damages, but a lot of others have not been so lucky.. An incident happened like that just as recently as 2 weeks ago.. My girlfriend pulls here P800 out of the case in the store to place a call and next thing you know I see the phone flying in the air and smacks right into the floor.. I learned my lessons about keeping the phones protected only some of the times.. With my open access case though I do have to admit that I have dropped it on occasion while placing a call, but at least it was protected by the padding of the case.. A full enclosure case is not different then simply keeping your phone in your pocket Its protected ONLY when you are not using it.. Being that this particular phone has a PDA functionality chances are you will handle the phone more then any other mobile phone because of that feature.. So that means you leave your self with more chances to drop it or whatever
Something worth considering when choosing a case to protect your P900
Youll notice in the pic below that there is open access to the P800 while its still in the caseThat amount of coverage displayed in the pic while the phone is being accessed makes a world of difference if your phone was to suddenly slip out of your hands.

60 Euro's. And worth every cent!

Didn't anyone notice the handy little strap that came with the P900. If you put this round your wrist while handling the phone then if it does slip you don't drop it.

It saves the bulk of having a case around the phone - it's big enough already.

Must tell you all. . .I went through at least five cases for the P800 and the only case I found that I liked was the Krusell. I hear they are releasing one for the P900 as well. Although I like the quality of the Piel Frama it is poorly designed. First, you need to open the case when the phone rings in order to see who is calling and this is not always convenient. When you close the case it rubs on the key pad and on my phone it rubbed off the coating that protects one of the keys. . .and when closing the case it also presses the keys of the phone which is not ideal either. I also know people who lost memory cards given the slots were poorly sized. I provided my feed back to Ruben who didn't seem too interested in what his customers had to say about his product. I'll never buy from them again. The only case that enables you to see who is calling without opening the case is the Krusell and the Covertec as they both have plastic covers which also do a perfect job of protecting the phone. . .the Covertec however does not fit as tightly as I would like. Anyway. . .jsut my opinion for whatever it is worth.

I'd like to check out both Krusell and Covertec. Please post the web site where I can view them. Thanks.

Right now I use cases for P 800 (while using in my belt) and Nokia 7650 (if i put it in my pocket). Those two cases fit for p 900. After buying them, I strecth first so my p900 will fit with them.

Best Regard😊

I got Ruben from Piel Frama to build it for me.. It was about 105 Euros. As far as some of the case slot issues I asked them to tighten them as well.

Covertec has not yet launched a case for the P900 yet but here is the webiste address where you can see their P800 case. . .I'm sure it is just a matter of time before they launch a P900 case:
http://www.mobileplanet.com/private/covertec/

You can also buy the Covertec P800 case at Expansys if you're in the UK so I would imagine they will also carry the P900 case when it launches.

As for Krusell here is the link to the P900 case:
http://www.krusell.se/

Scan down and you'll see the case. It is available now.

As for the Piel Frama croc skin case Bigfeat refers to. . .it is NOT special order hence does not require a special request to Ruben. You can purchase this at Piel Frama's website. Here is the link for their site. . .you need to look around to find but it is there.

As I mentioned before I would never make a purchase from Piel Frama again since they don't seem all that interested in what their customers input is. So don't bother providing them feedback on their products. They have made NO changes to the original P800 nor does it appear they have made changes to the P900 case either. . .this despite feedback from many customers. While their product IS of a higher quality (better leather, padded etc.) it has no window so you must open the case each time the phone rings to see who is calling and to answer it (unless you have bluetooth but still you can't see who is calling). Two issues here: first this is one extra step and two, everytime you open the case you are at risk of the phone falling out. I know people who have really messed up their phone by dropping it as they opened their Piel Frama case. Again all of this feed back was provided to Ruben directly in e-mail (by me in fact) and they have made NO modifications to the case. So again I can not buy a product from a company that completely ignores smart feed back from customers particularly if the original product is putting and expensive phone at risk. So again I caution anyone who buys this case. I also have talked to several people who have lost their memory cards as they fell out of the case since the slots were too big.

So again don't be lead by a product that just looks good. . .buy one that ALSO provides protection and ease of use. The only two cases that do this are the Krusell and Covertec. Yes neither is quite as stylish but in the end balancing out needs they are the best choice.

By the way here's a tip: to avoid losing memory cards put them in the battery compartment on top of the battery underneath the cover!

The special request was having the pockets modified to my needs.. Meaning, I didn't want a case that came from a general batch order.. It is technically different from any other leather, ostrich, or croc skin case they made. So yes, it was 'special' ordered in that since.

Fantastic 😃 So you'll never buy from them again because they didn't change the case to exactly match your requests?!!!

Yeah right, if your a queer. OK for women.

Except that the belt clip is rubbish and is always slipping off (nearly lost the phone the day after I got it thanks to that belt clip). The case would be okay if you could remove the belt clip but, being entirely useless AND permanant, the original case just doesn't cut it for me.

I dont believe that you can get a case that 100% suitable, they simply dont exist. Krusell cases are good but they are bulky, a bit ugly to me and hang vertically. Horizontally placed cases are much more useful especially when you driving or sitting on a chair.

What about this one not 100% perfect though.

😃

Absolutely agree with you. There can never be a perfect case as people's needs are different. For me, having shelled out 500 for the phone, I want a case with maximum protection first, accesibility comes as a second. So the scuba case doesn't fit my needs (very accessible but offers little protection, especially on the corners).

yup, you right and that's why it's not 100% perfect either. 😃
But I must admit that you right when we are talking about a worth device.
