Hi,
I am using my Orange contract SIM in a recently purchased sim-free 6600. My problem is that I am not reciving any indication of voicemail messages i.e. no message received tone or icon.
This was working fine on my previous handset (Orange SE T610) - is ther anything I can on the handset to rectify this ? Orange customer services have had one go at re-setting my voicemail but as yet this has not helped.
Any suggestions - If I can't sort this out the phone will have to go back..........
I think this has already been posted somewhere else so there are similiar people with the same problems...
The only thing I can offer is that it is most probably something to do with Orange system not working...I remember having the problem for a couple fo weeks on my 7110 before I even noticed....it took them a while to sort it out - cant remeber the exact details but it wasnt a smooth ride...

It's a bug in that the software in the phone doesn't support Class 0 SMS voicemail notifications - I've had the same problem with a 3650, although the latest firmware update has finally resolved it.
Line 2 doesn't work either (and despite being in the manual, Nokia aren't interested in fixing that either).
Orange appear to have delayed the launch of the phone now (I suspect they are waiting for a new firmware with this fixed to be released before they set a new date).
Shame this has happened again.
Thanks,
Any idea if a firmware update is in the offing ?

Do I expect Nokia will release new firmwares for the 6600? Yes
Do I expect Nokia will release a new firmware which fixes this problem? Yes
Do I expect Nokia to fix it in the
next firmware? Not sure
Do I expect Nokia to release the next firmware soon? Not sure
Do I therefore expect Orange to be able to release the phone In January? No comment, although I hope they do.
However, I do fear a repeat of the 3650 situation - it was in the Orange store magazine for 3 months as Coming Soon, and then quietly dropped. Of course, now it basically works Orange don't want it as it's an old phone (although I reckon it would sell well on PAYG). As the 6600 is said to be the best thing to replace a 6310(i) with, I would hope Orange care enough to push Nokia.
