Porting from Orange to O2

1 replies · 1,535 views · Started 26 November 2003

I have just heard from O2 that due to an issue with Orange, if you port over your number to O2 or Vodafone you can't use MMS at present.

This has something to do with redirection that Orange does not yet support!

This problem has been ongoing for several months and there appears to be no solution at present.

Does anyone have any experience / ideas on this topic?

Don't do it, O2 is aweful.

O2-UK Features

1. Don't support standard nokia delivery reports, you have to prefix messages *0# for a delivery report.

2. Don't support the standard voicemail notification in Nokia phones, you get a call or SMS from voicemail.

3. MMS unreliable (not delivered).

4. GPRS slow

5. GPRS unreliable connecting.

6. Poor customer service.

7 .SMS taking hours to arrive.

All of the above are my experiences.

I have been on O2 Online (previously Genie) for 2 years for the free texts, but I really just give up - and their customer service is poor, and Orange now have good text deals via there website (not shops). Just waiting for the 6600 and I'm porting back to Orange.
