Hi Rafe,
I saw the Press Conference of the Sendo Smartphone yesterday at http://www.sendo.com/webconf
I think you where at this meeting to see the product 😉
So what do you think about it? good points/bad points?
Thanks to you

I'm preparing some thoughts and comments. hopefuuly get some time this evening.
However I can say I was very impressed. I think Father Christmas might be hearing from me about the X.
This mean there is a chance to see the Sendo X in shops for christmas in UK??
Sendo have said Q1 for the SendoX in the UK market - so no chance.
I can't understand why they didn't go with the latest version of Symbian. I think the phone will be hampered if a lot of current software wont run on it
The way i understand it, it is actually the reverse.
ALL series60 software should run on it.
The n6600 has the latest version of symbian on it and a lot of series60 stuff won't work!
Personally I CANT WAIT FOR THE SENDO!!! 😊
Hmmm, the worrying thing is I was reading the latest new on the Sendo, it mentions it has an extra 12 pixels on the screen which constantly shows the battery level, signal, and incoming messages. It then goes on to say:
Primed for customization, the display offers an extra 12 pixels at the top which at all times display system indicators for new messages, signal reception, battery level and more. Despite this, the X is fully compatible with other Series 60 applications as long as these are coded according to proper guidelines.

I was at the Pub meet when Sendo were there, and the Sendo X is a nice phone.
In regards to the extra 12 pixels height (at top), I felt it was the right thing to do as I am forever running my battery down when playing games. I was also told that the ability to use them is also available to developers to make full screen apps/games, but I personally would leave the bar intact. My only comment was on model we saw was a white background with red battery and signal icons. I hope (although didn't ask) you can change the background colour as well as the Icon colour.
My favourite feature was the Camera Flash. I didn't use this whilst at the meet, but also has Red-Eye reduction, and can be turned off if not needed.
The Now! Screen is another new addition. But I leave someone else to describe that.
The MMC slot has be updated from other Series 60 phones as is now MMC and SD compatible. I think Sendo said was Hot-Swappable, but I was getting drunk by that point, so don't quote me as being 100% accurate.
Personally I think I would rather go for the Sendo X than the Nokia 6600 having played briefly with both.
Maybe you already knows but..
On Sendo website (www.sendo.com😛 ) is available the COMPLETE manual of the Sendo X, with a LOT of info and specs and so and so.....
Go for it!!😃 !
Gadget17
What do you think of the sceen quality?
G17, yes I know about the extra 12 pixels. I just hope the fact that it has them extra 12 pixels doesn't mean that the entire Series 60 catalogue of software has to be tweaked to run on the Sendo X. I'm sure this won't be the case.
The "extra" pixels are not accessible by applications (only used for indicators; battery level, network, etc.). Applications only see/use the 176x208 area (max).
Same as with Siemens SX1, which also has 176x220 pixel screen.

Where on their site, I cannot find it... Only the 11 page pdf of extended specifications.
it has been removed so if u didn't get it b4, then good luck searching for it
I found them on their local UK site:
It's in the same spot as the removed www.sendo.com site. I can't remember what subpage I found them on, though.
Could someone please email the user guide to me

Thanks
