Just reading about this phone, it seems the flash is little more than a bright LED, and the range is only about 1 metre 😞

Who has given you this piece of info? have you used the phone? Anyway u can't expect the phone to perform like the flash of a Digital SLR😉 😃

Yes, this sound right to me. It's a phone after all, I don't know what you expected. It is the most practical solotion for this type of device and most sesinble use of battery power.
Yep, after thinking about it I thought, hey, at least it actually has a flash lol!
Then I started thinking about playing MP3's and doing other stuff on the phone, and suddenly I forgave the 1 metre flash 😃
I can confirm, after playing with the Sendox, that it is a very bright white LED - mainly for power requirements. A 'professional' flash would have killed the battery. BUt the LED works pretty well for its range!

yes its just a led but its a lot more powerful than the flashes of sony ericsson's(k700i, s700i) and samsung's (e710, e800), tested by myself. But it may be a disadvantage when using the flash in closer photos of people (<1,5m) it gives a big discomfort in eyes.
Its range is more than 1m, even a bit more than 2,5m in nightmode. But there's a different thing in flashed photos, the flash lights up 1 second before the shot, sometimes the camera can't act that fast and can't adjust the colors for the flash, this ends with a neon effect photo. I like it 😊
