hi, i'm using my P900 with a powerbook running mac 10.3 panther. i sync my calendar and contacts via bluetooth over iSync, and it works fine.
my question is this: i would like to install 3rd party apps (tracker, agendus, worldmate, and quickoffice, to be exact), and have read from the handango site i need a PC running the SE software to do so. have any of you successfully done so on a mac? if so, what is the process?
additionally, if any of you have used the above 3rd party apps and have any feedback or comments, that would be most helpful as well
many thanks in advance
Use your small App. called "Bluetooth File-Exchange"
-send your app.
Open "Beamed" on your P900
Click "Show" beamed item
You will now be asked to install
That's it !
Good luck with your task.

Look in the Utilities folder which lives in your applications folder. The app is in there.

I don't think there any BT file exchanger interface presents on P900. If the file supported by 'sending over BT' then you can select BT from 'send as' sub menu. The best and the easiest way to do that is from Mac. As deggy says it's in the Utilities folder under your Applications folder.

Hi,
What version of firmware are you using on your P900? Im using R5B02 (CDA: 16/2003/5) and OS X 1.3.4 but not able to add my P900 to iSync. I usually get device not found error message. Need not to say my phone is already paired and I can perform every other single BT job from my PowerBook. Do you have any clue?
Thanks,
PS. I'm using Tracker 4 and it seems to useful to me.
Gosh, I don't understand why all this confusion. Ok so assuming your Mac is bluetooth-equipped (internally or dongle):
1- Turn on bluetooth on the phone and the Mac.
2- In the Mac's taskbar, click the Bluetooth icon and choose Send File.
3- Choose the file or app or sis file you want to send or install onto your P900.
4- Send away... !
5- On the P900 go to the Messaging section and choose Beamed.
6- You will find whatever you sent in there.
hi...im new in this forum...writing from italy
just a question...what is "beamed"? is there anyapps for mac that allow you to install a sis file from the mac itself without transferring it to the phone?
Installation on the phone is always preceded by transferring the installation package to the phone (where the phone's installer unpackages the installation file, puts the actual program files in it to where they should be + all other activities needed).
I don't know Macs, but "beaming" also in the case of a Mac just means using its built-in facilities to send a file over Bluetooth or infrared (IrDA) to the phone (where it ends up in the phone's messaging "Inbox" & when you open the message, the installation starts automagically).
