Help! I messed with c:\system\mail

First of all, Hi everyone! this is my first msg!

The thing is i've got a msg stuck in my outbox. what i tried to do is to delete all of the messages on my phone so i deleted all of the files on c:\system\mail.

Not a good idea.

All of my messaging applications died instantly. I managed to restore the normal SMS application by running Z:\System\Programs\Mailinit.exe. But the when i want to create a new multimedia message it says 'System Error!'.

Help help! what do i do!? 😕

I decided to reset the whole thing.. so i punched *#7370# and it asked me if i want to restore everything.. blah blah... i pressed yes and entered the lock code. phone was resete and asked me for time and date..

SURPRISE! nothing has changed. same background, same contacts and of course, same errors.... 😡

Anyone knows a better way to reset the phone so it will be the same as the day i bought it?

Thanks..

er hard reset your phone - you'll loose everyhting but might get sms function back again!

Try *#7780#.

uh, Thanks.. But the only thing that *#7780# did was to change my background and the hotkeys...

Yes. Now try to repeat *#7370# again after it.
Hope this helps.

Nope.. same thing.

I think you need to visit your local Nokia Service Centre (list of them on support page of www.nokia.com). Your phone is under guarantee, so they will reflash/upgrade the firmware without charge - just say the mail options are not working. Make sure they can do it while you wait, by ringing ahead.
