As of today, P900 users no longer have to travel to a SonyEricsson Service Centre to upgrade their firmware. The latest firmware version is Organiser: R2B02 which can be dowloaded from SonyEricsson.

Version R2B02:

  • Improved sound quality in Office handsfree mode.
  • Updated Java support MIDP2 - MIDlet signed against Verisign certificate.
  • Improved capitalization in T9, now capitalizing characters properly.
  • Enhanced handling of accessories, Bluetooth headset, HBH-200, displays name and phone number of incoming caller.
  • The Clock screen saver digits has been enlarged for better visualization.
  • Find function in e-mail application has been improved.

As soon as I saw the post, I tried it. A bit less laborious than flashing an iPaq, but not horrible. I did note that I had to re-pair my HBH-30 headset and deinstall/reinstall eZTap, but other than that, it worked like a charm!😎

Hi all, I have a problem .... I tried going to the SE website and update my phone to the R2B02 as I see from your posts, but when I entered my CDA number (CDA162004/14), it tells me I have the latest version. But I am only running on R1A05. Is my phone locked like the "Mobitopia" website described? Coz I bought this phone from a SE dealer in Hong Kong, and brought it over to use in Canada. Could it still be locked? Can I check that in the service menu?

Thanks so mcuh !

...and today I upgraded to r2c01 via sonyericsson update service
