Successor for 9210i ??

there seems to be roumours of a Nokia 9810 floating around. with a camera built in etc.
Dont know how fas is this true.

Nokia is focusing at the moment more an the 60 Series (7650 etc.) Let's see what they still put out of their sleeves this year. 😊

The communicator is not going to be a common device anywhere near the series 60 devices, hence the 9xxx series probably wont have a sucessor until later next year while Nokia think of how to get the great unwashed (using their 3310s) to get onto smart phones.

I just heard today from an anonymous emailer (spam?) that the 9290 was going to be 'pulled off the market' pretty soon. He prefaced this noting that the 9290 has a high rate of screen failure and that NOKIA was reluctant to repair (due to being sold by unauthorized sellers--ebay). He proceeded to tell me that he sells the more reliable models 😉

I agree with Switchblade... it'll be late next year (2003) before a replacement is announced. This model is not for the masses and it seems to me that Nokia is definitely marketing to the masses. Just my $.02.

First I've heard of a screen failure issue that's commonplace. Might be a typo as the 8xxx series was known for screen failures especially the 8210.

Thanks for responding TWICE. I had not intended on posting that issue twice, it just sort of came out 😃 I am looking to get my hands on a 9290 real soon so of course this bothered me. 'But, now, I feel okay again.
