Looking for a 'news' reader

Just new here, brand new P900 next to me ... proud like a kid with its new toy 😊

Anyway, I'm looking for a good offline (sync) newsreader, something like AvantGo. I've tried their Symbian version, but it only runs on Nokia devices.

It has to be offline, sync'ed, because GPRS costs you an arm and a leg in Belgium (read: my boss will not pay for the subscription).

thanks in advance,
L.

I believe there's a program called MobiPocket and you can download it from Handango

guess it'll do the trick as it downloades the latest news to your PC then u can Sync it (through the same program) to ur device

and don't worry if the screenshot is for Nokia, cuz it's compatible with SE P800/900

But this only works with mobi news items.
Not with normal nows groups.

Would be nice to have but dont think this will happen on the px00 any time to soon.

Thanks dudes, the "MobiPocket" thingie seems to work great. Too bad they kinda promise the TheReg feed in the preview, although it has been discontinued.

Yeah, bummer

There are more feeds available from their web site.
I get the Syndney Morning Herald each morning, which is kinda cute (I used to live in Sydney)

With Mobipocket eNews Creator (currently under Beta testing), there are already hundreds of new eNews titles available. You will get them with the new Web Companion program.

Mobipocket eNews format can handle:
- XML extraction from any standard website (see Mobipocket eNews file format specification on Mobipocket Yahoo! Group)
- AvantGo Channels / Mobile websites
- RSS feeds

sssssweet ! 😊
I've seen the FAQ item about how to download AvantGo channels to it, but the body of it was still empty. So I figured there was something going on there. Keep us posted when it launches please.

I've been testing so many new things on my P900 the past few days ... what the heck, one more won't kill me 😉 So if you want to share that beta, feel free.
