Yesterday my phone stiopped getting a signal on Orange. I powered down then up a few times to no avail. I phoned Orange and was told by an automatic message that some people were experiencing problems receiving and sending. I left the phone for a few hours but still nothjing. Eventually I put the sim in my 7650 which worked immediately. Then when I put it back into the 6600 all was fine again!

I'm wondering whether the screen is slightly weak on the 6600. It was fine this morning when I got up. I put it the phone in my pocket as usual and went to work. On arriving I found the screen had developed a 1/2 inch crack from the right hand sidetowards the left corner. There was nothing else in my pockets, no keys, no money. Can't work out how it happened!
The first one I would say is a coincidence and not necerssarily related to the Phone but the second is bit worrying - although looking at mine now I couldnt see how you could crack the screen without some force or something heavier leaning against it.
MAybe its do to with the Case being a bit more flimsy....?
Yeah, it is very worrying. Especially as my phone is 3 weeks old and I am taking very good carre of it - I still have the plastic on. As I say, it just seemed to appear. Perhaps the phone fell during the night and I din't notice it this morning, but having had my 7650 for 2 years and no cracks I can only imagine I am very unlucky, or the screen is slightly weak.
I wonder how much it'll cost to fix.... Carphone warehouse reckoned �150 for the screen, but I wonder if the screen and the glass are seperate. Shame, as I was planning on selling the phone once the Sendo X came out.
As you�re with orange why not register for Orange care then wait a few days and report the crack 😊
there was a massive network outage on orange yesterday. so I guess your sim swap coincided with the network coming back to life!

mr gar - orange care doesn't work like that. you can have care only on phones you have bought from orange (i.e. on contract/payg). since orange aren't currently selling the 6600 no dice there.
I bought my 6600 from Orange - �160 with a 12 month extension..
orange uk? where did you get the phone from and do you actually have the phone in your posession? I didnt realise it was launched yet - it certainly wasn't when i made my original post.
if you have the phone can you tell me whether the answerphone notiifcation works and/or line 2 please?
Orange called me on 24 December to inform me that the 6600 was available as an upgrade for �49.99.
