Rumours of LG Symbian device

Rumours floating around are suggesting that LG may release a Symbian version of their SC8000 (Pocket PC) device next summer in Europe. The source of this information is this CBR article. Some information and pictures of the SC800 is available here. Its likely that the device would run the UIQ UI which is becoming increasingly popular in the Far East. Thanks to The Feature for the heads up.

Surely the facts that it runs Pocket PC and features a USB port make it blatantly obvious that it is NOT a Symbian device?!!!

Why so?

OSs can be changed. And Symbian OS v7.0(s) supports USB.

There is even one device - Psion netPad - which can run both Symbian OS and WinCE.

Motorola have phones with their own - whatever it is called - proprietary OS (all models execept following), then they have Symbian 7.0/UIQ 2.1 (A920), they have Microsoft Smartphone 2002 (MPx200) and they have Linux (A760).

They don't have any pure Java phones (though, the A760 even if it has Linux, supports only Java midlets as user-installable software).
