The only visual indication you have is the led, flashing green when the battery is full, flashing red when the battery is nearly empty.
There's also an audible indicator, a high beep coming from the headset (during phone call) warns you that the battery is nearly empty.
in addition to what Corpse said, I've got a HBH-35 and I guess it'll b the same for all SE BT HS:
if u press both (volume up) & (volume down) buttons at the same time, u'll see the green LED flashing
if it flashes 3 times, the battery is full
if it flashes 2 times, the battery is 2 thirds full
if it flashes 1 times, the battery is 1 third full
if it flashes RED then u have to charge it soon!
