I've read about an obscure "second processor", which was supposed to work inside the P900. Some said, it would perform telephony-related functions, other speculated it enhanced 3D graphics:

Does anybody have any less speculative information about a 2nd processor?

Afraid not, nothing official. SE for some reason never mention processor speed and such, we had to find that out on our own (clocked at 156MHz).
The second processor/co-processor is apparently used for multimedia/graphics spesific operations only, but again, there is no official information confirming that (AFAIK). I don't know if this has been confirmed/tested unofficially either, but it seems to be a generally accepted truth. There do seem to be a noticeable difference in speed when it comes to graphics intensive games and video playback etc. The main processor in the P900 is still the same as its predecessor.
Hmmm...has anyone taken a P900 apart to confirm a 2nd processor on the board itself?
I remember I've seen a site for the P800 which explained how to take that phone apart. Now, I don't want to do that. But we could have a look at the board and possibly identify components.
Also, on the official SE sites I can read nothing about such a processor. Wouldn't you expect them to hype it?
The (noticeable) speed-up could result from improved APIs in UIQ 2.1.
But now I'm speculating, too. 😊

there are two processors in both P800 and P900.
The second processor is from Philips and it's the multimedia processor.
I believe the main CPU processor is the same in the P800 as it is in the P900, only the multimedia processor has been upgraded.
sorry oferloar😉
guess only the P900 has 2 processors, as the P800 has only 1 processor (that's Y it's so slow handeling movies and other multimedia materials)
Both the P800 and P900 are dual processor machines. One handles telephony and the other handles the PDA side. This is the reason why they have seperate phone and pda images.
