Depends on where you are. Expansys had it as their deal of the day earlier this week for 500. Obviously, that was only for one day but may be repeated. It's worth heking back there each day after 3PM GMT to see. Mobilefun.co.uk has it for 529. p900er.com has it for just over 500, but they're in Singapore so the P&P is quite expensive. However, if you pay in USD, it works out quite a bit cheaper. Those are the cheapest I've seen so far.
Hmmm thats actually quite cheap to what I can get them for. I live in Guernsey Channel Islands, we are VAT free here so from Live Telecom I can get one for 399 not including delivery! (it's 475.99 including VAT and delivery..
Opps I made a mistake I meant quite 'expensive' not 'cheap' at the start of my reply there 😉
Hello,
I got mine sim-free from Carphone Warehouse for 329 inclusive of VAT. Bought it in the Tottenham Court road branch on December 1st.
It was /is marked in their Xmas catlogue at this price contract free. I asked the sales guy and the store manager several times to confirm this price and they both went on about "Well sir phones on a contract are heavily subsidised and so that's why they're more expensive off line" etc. etc. I'm not sure they realised I was actually giving them the opportunity to price it up not down !
I confirmed I wanted it at 329 they took my money, went and fetched one, scanned it and lo and behold it came up at 549. I was prepared to make a small fuss and then give up thinking they would hide behind the E&OE statements in their brochure but without prompting they said they were obliged to honour that price and rang it through as managers discretionary discount.
The manager told me he would be calling HQ to alert them of this misprint but I'm sure the leaflet is still in circulation. If you try a few CPW stores, be prepared to dig your heels in and probably try whilst the store manager is busy/at lunch you may well be able to secure this price still.
Someone at modaco got their P900 free on O2, on a 45/month tariff.
If (after the 3 month minimum) you downgrade you tariff to 15/month it works out at a total of 270, and the line rental just works out as a cheap loan!

This offer is true, I am the proud owner of a P900 as of 13:00 yesterday. Just go into any O2 shop and ask.
Went into Phones4U and CPW and they laughed in my face when I asked if they could better it!!😛 😛 😛😃
can you downgrade after 3months on O2? I was under the impression that all of that stopped now.
jemhdar can you give details on what contract you are on at the mo?
Can you do this with Orange? Im with orange pay-as-you-go so it will save me having to unlock the phone 😛
do O2 provide phones which work on all networks? Can someone try their P900 from O2 on another network
My answers;
1. So far have tested handset with Orange and a Vodafone SIM, so feel confident in stating the handset is not network locked, and;
2. I was told I had to keep for three months before I could make a change. Think I will be contacting O2 to verify 2 morrow.
In the UK Vodafone and O2 don't lock their contract phones, and AFAIK they use "standard" manufacturer settings (that's why new phones often come out sooner on these networks - there are no operator-specific modifications to test before launch).
If you get an Orange contract phone, or (I think, never tried it) a Voda or O2 pay-as-you-go phone there are operator locks on the handset.
The time that you are committed to staying with a tariff vary between suppliers. Even on the same network with the same handset. It's worth shopping around on the web and checking the terms and conditions.
If they don't specify a period that you have to stay on the tariff for you can (theoretically) change it 10 minutes after buying it (or whatever the operator specifies as the minimum period), with no penalty.
Read the T&Cs carefully though to avoud getting caught out. I bought from themobilerepublic.com and changed tariffs, and they tried to get me to pay the full handset price... they gave up when I asked where it specified the minimum period in their T&Cs (because it wasn't in there!)
I bought my Orange P900 from the carphone warehouse, they do a price match guarantee so i found a nice internet deal (www.fones4free.com) at 37.99 on a 50 a month contract and asked the carphone warehouse if they would match it. They said they would, so I called orange customer services and asked them "If I buy an Orange contract phone from the Carphone warehouse, how long is it before I can Change the tarriff to a cheaper option. The woman answered withough asking me any questions or hesitating at all and said '1 month'. I said are you 100% sure? she said yes, positive."
So, i went to the store, showed the rep the printout of the fones4free priceing and he ran it through, i walked away 37.99 + 50 lighter with a P900 in tow. 😊
Now all i got to do is hope that Orange woman wasn't telling me porkie pies 🙄
No, that sounds about right.
Got yourself a nice deal by the sounds of it!
Yeah, I thought so.
The other deal I was considering was from the same company (fones4free) but the phone was free and the tariff was 70 a month. I just wasn't 100% sure about being able to cancel it after a month, and i could probably just about handle a 50 a month tariff, but 70 is way over my budget.
It does just show that a bit of searching around goes a long way.
Orange aren't the ones that impose minimum tariff periods, its the retailers that do. Better check the small print if your CPW contract!
Well if orange dont have a problem changeing my contract, then i'll do it through them and just wont talkt to the retailer.
Carphone warehouse also said i wouldn't be able to transfer my old number over after i'd signed up, had to wait a while for vodafone to send me mine, but sure enough, transfered it over easy enough today. I just think that Carphone warehouse dont know what they're on about.

I split my week between the UK and the Republic of Ireland, I have a 02 UK contract (phone free, 45 quid a month for 1st three months) and a Meteor pay-as-you-go sim card for when I'm in Ireland and I have had no problems with switching between them 😎
