hi everyone... I'm not sure if this has been covered before... but I'm just wondering if any of you know which BT headset device suits the P900 the best...
I was thinking since I'm already gonna get this phone, I might as well get the BT headset as well... 😃
but yeah... just wondering if you guys have any suggestions... 😊
Well, the absolute best is the one worn by Angelina Jolie in "Cradle of Life", but they are somewhat hard to come by 😞
Think it depends on what you want from the headset, since you tend to trade size against sound pickup against battery life.
I have the short stubby SE one (whose number I forget), cos it makes you look less like a member of the Borg Collective than some of the others, and doesn't get in the way when you are eating.
Round here (i.e., City) I have seen a number of people using a unit with a long black pickup but really small earhook. Don't know the brand, but it looks quite good, especially on smaller faces (e.g., women)
THe HBH-200 is pretty good (if you don't go for the Borg look), but just lately it seems to be a bit erratic in terms of holding the pairing. I suspect this is the phone rather than the headset causing the problems though.
I have tested the P900 with 6 different BT headsets thus far. They included a line of Nokia, SE, Nextlink, and Motorolla. From all those headsets I have not seen any pairing issues at all. I have run through the SE HBH - (15,30,35,60,65). From all those SE line of headsets I preffer the HBH-60/65 the best.
However, my favorite toy is the Bluespoon Digital 'at the moment'. I have to say clarity is far superior in that headset then any other one I have tested. That may be because its the only BT headset in the market with a digital signal processor. When voice dialing from the headset I rarely if ever have to repeat myself even while driving @ 45 mph with the window down. I had to do that quite often with the SE BT headset series especially in windy conditions.
So there is no 'best' headset in terms of compatibility. I believe it all depends on what you can afford to spend on one. Below is a pic that displays the Bluespoon Digital and a HBH-60. The B.D. is completely engulfed in my ear and is barely visible to passerbys at some angles. The HBH-60/65 is comfortable, but not as clear to the caller. There have been mulitple reviews done on all the BT headsets which are far more indepth then what you'll find on this board. Again, you should not look at compatibility with the P900 as they all will do what they need to do "pair-up". The voice/reception quality will always remain a function of the BT headset only regardless of the phone it is paired with.

Thanks Bigfeat! That was some usuable info! Is that Bluespoon Digital very expensive, or is it in the same price-range as the HBH 60/65?
The Bluespoon Digital is between $350-$400 USD. Whereas the HBH-35/65 is around $120-$140 USD. Huge price difference, but the underlying difference is the size of the BD and that its the only BT with a digital signal processor. I still have all my SE headsets (including a brand new HBH-65) boxed up since I started using the B.D. headset.
BTW: I believe Expansys got the BD for $370 USD and the HBH-65 for about $130 USD.
wow that's a lot of information..!
thanks guys! 😃

Thanx! Well, I guess it's gonna be a SE headset then. The car I just bought was expensive enough as it is😉
Here's a pic of my HBH-35 and HBH-65.. SE really stepped up in style with them.. Haven't really used them as the only changes were really the casing and increased battery life. All these headsets had no pairing problem with my P800 or P900

Does that mean that all these headsets will also allow answering incoming calls by pressing the button on the headset?
Chuck -
Yes... I actually keep my phone in my pocket while walking or on the passender seat while driving. I never ever had an issue answering a call by pushing a button on these headsets when using my T68m, T68i, P800, or P900.
Cool, thanks
My xmas pressie list grew again!
I had tried using HBH-65 & HBH-200 on P900.
DAMM IT...
Whenever a calls come in 'sometimes' the headset doesn't pick up and so do it pick up when i make an outgoing calls.
It happens occassionally.
Anyone can advise me what to do?
Both headset is brand new when tested.
Remove the headsets from your device list on the P900. Remove battery and place it back in. Reset your BT headsets (I think you just hold all the buttons for a long time and it resets or clears the memory - it will look like its in pairing mode, but hold it a bit longer to kick it into reset mode). Pair them up again. This is a familiar problem after initial BT headset pairing. It will work the first time then only work intermittently. I believe the steps above should solve your problem. If it is to happen again, just remove the battery from the phone and reboot. It's more like that the BT connection did not break properly after its last cut-off. Similar to when you try to restart your pc and it just hangs because there was a running process that did not close properly or no yet at all. Good luck.
Thanks alot BigFeat...
I think try out your steps and feedback to here soon.
Problem still the same after reset, took out battery and put it back...sigh...
