Vodaphone GPRS setup - *HELP PLEASE!!*

4 replies · 3,009 views · Started 12 December 2003

Hi guys
I tried to setup my 6600 for GPRS / web browsing but no luck at all. I followed the instructions in the earlier post but there are a lot of issues.

Firstly, when the voda web page sends me the settings, I only get one access point - vodaphone gprs - not 2 as described. Also some of the links on that earlier post dont work any longer.

Anyway I set up the proxy addresses, ports etc and now when I try to connect to a URL I get "Warning! www.myurl.com" or something like that. No connections are made, even through the Opera> Opera Communities direct links.

Does anyone have a good guide for this?

Also I was wondering - at present I am using my old sim on my current / old voda tariff until the new one kicks in next week. Would this stop me accessing? Do I need something special enabling on my account?

Many thanks,
Shaun

Yes they do. When I got mine on tuesday it didn't have any settings for mobile internet on it. I called my supplier (Singlepoint) and they sent me the settings on two text messages. They spent about 20 minutes and now it all works perfectly.

These are the settings which should cause it to work. If you have any problem leave a message and I'll take another look for you.

you can also just ring them up and they'll send you all the settings, so you don't have to type it in.

Thanks for this excellent help! I did end up calling them anyway and they sent the settings and helped me change some around a little too. They did actually point out that the "send settings" link on the web page doesnt work correctly - something to look out for!
