Out of the blue the sound on my phone is gone. It has been gone for 3 days.
I can't hear people talking and they can't hear me.
Ringing tone and alerts are barely hearable.
I'm sure it's a software thing because upon startup the jingle is there at normal volume. But shutting down is now silent.
The most weird thing is that if I start any application being able to play sound and tap start/pause repeatedly then I hear very short (< 1 sec) fragtments of the song at normal volume!?
Does anybody have any knowledge to share??
I've had asimiler problem, as the phone was silent for a while... I just formated and restored my old data. and it's all gone
p.s. I usually store my new softwares on the DUO memory, therefore the formating was able to get everything back, and the restore didn't get the problem back, but if u do installing softwares on your C drive, then I suggest u do a manual restore for your old data (if u faced problems in the regular restore)

Formatting was going to be my last way out - I just expected it to be a software problem, which could be fixed in a less dramatic way. Oh well..
well as u can sometimes hear ur phone's sound, then I'm prety sure it's a software problem..
so I guess it's somehow a software that u installed or a system file that u've deleted that caused this problem. try to recall ur crime 😃
I've always thaught formating and restoring as a big issue, but after trying it once, u'll do it often to get the best performance of ur phone, and it'll take no more than 15 minutes (back up C, format it, restore data), simple! 😛

Guess what...I formatted d and made a master reset and now I have low ringing tones but still no sound is going in or out of the handset when I try to talk to someone..what the.....?

i want to format my c drive but do not want to lose data....is there any way to back up the data to the expansion card first??
sure there is...
but not to the Memory Card, it'll be to your PC's Hard Disk!
you just have to install the backup and restore software that came in the original CD with your phone, and connect it to the cradle, start Backup and Restore application ... snd you're on
if you want to backup your memory card as well, just tick the relevant option!
