take a look at a program called 'torch'
and also extended profiles I think it's called, if not someone will correct me 😉

you can play with the backlight with those.

Torch turns the backlight on perinatly with a white screen you cant do anything with the phone meanwhile its about as much use as split condom :/

Extended Profiles Pro has 3 options for Backlight AFAIK:-

1. Normal- (As Per Phone settings)
2. Always On
3. On when charging😞

I found with "torch" that if you leave it runing in the back ground the screen light stays on.

As mentioned, FExplorer has also an option to turn & keep on the backlight (among other useful functions): http://www.gosymbian.com/

How much of a hit does the battery take when leaving the back light on all the time?

Does it reduce the screen life (pixel killer?) as well?

I would imagine the battery drain would be quite something if left on all the time!
I cant see it killing pixels tho.
