GPRS worked fine the first 3 weeks I had the 7650 - it connected within seconds to my mailserver and to WAP. But since one week I have major problems. Most time I get no connection. The error messages says "GPRS not available" or sometimes "GPRS not available becuase call is active" - but there is no call active. Sometimes, but not often, a connection is established. Thats why I think the configuration is ok.
I called the phone company but they dont find a problem in their GPRS network. Now I thought of some software troubles of the handy. I did install (and uninstall) a lot of programs. I have SeleQ running (registered) and some games like Silverball and Fruity Columns (both registered too).
Does anyone have an idea what could cause these problems? Thanks for any help in advance.
Another GPRS-question
"GPRS not available" means just that - there's no GPRS coverage where you are. Assuming that you used to get coverage there I would say it's a handset problem.
I 90% sure that you can't use GPRS whilst some other services are running (like SMS for example), but you should be able to make a voice call while GPRS connections are open... I think.
Sorry, perhaps my English isnt good enough - what do you mean with "handset problem"?
GPRS coverage should be availabe where I use to be - and the strange thing is that it worked 3 weeks everywhere and then stopped ...
I think your phone might be faulty
Either that or your service provider has changed something I expect. :-?
Try another GPRS phone with your SIM, and try your phone with a different SIM (if you can) and see what you get.
I know of a few 7650's in the UK area that have lost there GPRS settings for no apparent reason.
I've got the 'GPRS not available' once while I was sending an email while in a 'out of signal' area. Surely the email didn't got through.
But while moving to another area where the signal strength is superb, I still got that 'GPRS not available' message when sending emails.
I resolved it eventually by switching the phone off and on again.
