I tried installing a theme on my 3650 and got a message saying that series 60 theme support is required. I've heard that there is a sis file in the z drive of the 6600 called series_60_theme_support.sis and I'm wondering if that would make it work... If anyone wants to help me test it please pm or email me the sis file at [email][email protected][/email].

Darla,you can't just install the .sis file.My guess that it is hardcoded to the z: drive.You will probably need some reverse engineering in order to install that file.Even if you do install it,my (maybe inacureate)guess is that the .sis file is only a dummy requirement set to prevent any confusion with Series 60 1.x devices.

I tried the s60themesupport.sis and I could get some progress! I copied it in C:\system\install and now he wants more files from the 6600! Could sombody attach in a *.zip ALL Files from that directory of the 6600'z-drive in which that s60themesupport.sis is?

I got those files now and I could(!) install one 6600-theme.... I have now a new drectory in C:\system with the name skins! But I don't know how I can swich to that skin! I need more files out of the z-drive.... there musst be an order in which the complete theme-programm is...... could s.b. search for it or maybe upload the COMPLETE Z-Drive?????

That sounds great, Judic. I think you also need the same theme-application which is in the 6600. Please tell more if you can some results. I am also interested getting 6600's Z-drive files.

I'm not entirely sure on this, but aren't the files on the Z: copyright either Symbian Ltd or Nokia, and as such cannot be freely distributed? If this is not correct, could somebody please correct me, otherwise, please do not post copywritten material on AAS.

Forgive me if this is a little obvious, but surely the easiest and best way to get Themes is to get a phone that actually supports them, like the 6600. It seems like no one is having any luck with putting themes on their 3650/7650 and it would be far easier to either buy sLauncher from Symbianware or simply upgrade to a 6600.
I also agree that certain files, if not ALL files on the Z: drive are very likely to be copyrighted and not for distribution without prior consent of Nokia/Symbian.
Finally, Themes were never designed for the 3650/7650, therefore even if you did manage to get all the correct files onto the phone, it might not operate correctly and if it were to mess up the phone, it would not be covered by any warranty.

If upgrading to a 6600 is not an option, invest in sLauncher. At Euro 9.95, it is a great buy which is powerful and flexible and there are hundreds of skins out there. In fact, many people who now have 6600's, still believe sLauncher is a better option than Themes.

Well, I didn't get much further! I can now install skins, but they can't be shown without the proper software! So I stop my tries!!!

Maybe there will be some third-party themesupport in future!

i sell my 7650 and buy the 6600..

but i sold the 7650 a few days after i got the 6600

so.. i saw and holded on my hands the 7650 and the 6600 at the same time 😃 for a few days ...

and after you use and play for a while with both phones ..

believe me, you will don't care about the lost of the 7650 at all 🙄

so... let it go!... 😃

But who says that it is impossibe to work on 6.1?
I think those Theme-Application is not an OS 7.0 but a general new Nokiafeature !!

i own a N-Gage classic 😃 and i went to nokia developers site
its says next to the technical specs of n-gage that the developer tools include the multimedia converter for movies and the series 60 theme studio
i exported the default skin and no luck it requires the support
so i was using fexplorer to look around some of the install files and two of them are

Nokia3650.sis
Nokia7650.sis

yay now the N-gage is both of them

seriously if anyone figures out how to make the skin support work for the 3650 or the 7650 (aka n-gage) tell me i need to know
