I had a problem with mRouter not being able to find any COM ports. For a while it would only show an infrared port, which I wasn't using, and that was it!
I couldn't get it to find any of the Bluetooth COM ports before, but now I have a solution to this.
I use the Widcomm drivers for my dongle.
I have an internal PCI modem, and if I go to the Device manager, find the modem, hit properties and Disable the modem, then reboot the machine, hey presto, all the COM ports are there and PC Suite will work successfully!!! 😊
Seems to be some problem finding COM ports when having some internal modems installed!
Hope this helps some people.
Hi,
I get something like this a lot when assembling PC's, mainly with the modem. You install it ok, but instead of going to com 3 it goes to say com 2.
A way I get around this and it may work for you with your BT adaptor is to go to device manager, enable the modem so it works. Then go to PORTS and remove every single port assigned in there, com1, com2 everything. Once you have done that reboot the PC, you may lose your mouse if it isn't PS2 so will have to use the keyboard to shut down.
Now restart the PC and windows will automatically detect the ports connected to the machine and install them once again.
This may assign a port to the modem and the BT adaptor so they work together.
It may or may not work, try it.

Thanks.
I will give that a go. If it doesn't work succesfully, would it make a mess of my ports, or do you think it will keep other devices working?
Would be a bit afraid of messing up my machine, but I trust your knowledge.
Cheers.
