Have any of you guys tried the jabra BT200 headset with an n-gage? I will be going to england soon and I want to see if i can get my hands on a cheapish n-gage (150-170 pounds) and I want to get a BT headset because i dont want to look like a complete lemon by holding a taco to my head(no offence to those who do). Does the n-gage support voice dialing? Thanks

BT200 will work with N-Gage, but don't expect to be able to listen to the radio, the radio needs the wired headset as it uses the wire as an arial..

Wll

Yea not for radio since it the wire as an inductance loop in other words a aerial. But mp3s will be ok righ? I dont expect excelent quality. Do you have a Jabra BT200?

Yes, the N-Gage has voice activated dialing. I have several voice tags and it works great.
I have a Jabra BT headset with my T616. I just got the N-Gage last week and haven't paired it with the Jabra yet, but plan to.

Btw the headsets dont work with the n-gage,The n-gage can only see mobile phones and computers not headsets.

Not sure where uve heard that cus its not true.

Ive paired my N-Gage with the motorola bluetooth car kit at work and another BT handsfree at work (cant think of the model off the top of my head). It deffinitely supports bluetooth audio as well as data.

I can only assume that it has a newer bluetooth profile thou, as only some headsets will work with it. Im sure Ghostdog, Willbrady or N/A will be able to confirm or correct this 😃

EXCELELNT!
Well got my n-gage today from wollies only prob i aint got no software cd with it. Is that right?

Hello.

I bought a Jabra BT200 bluetooth headset too, but when I get an incoming call, the loudspeaker won't ring. I only get the ringtone in my Headset, even though in the profile the ringing is set at maximum.

Thanks

Actually, I have a BT200 that I thought was supposed to be Nokia compatible, but it is not working for me. I can pair, but not connect...

You must have a really old one mate - the first ones were not compatible, they have been compatable for about 9 months now, take your one back and tell them to update their stock! 😊

Just a comment: I cant believe some BT brands dont work well with the N-Gage. FireWire, USB, Bluetooth, etc. is supposed to be an "industry standard" technology which should work with any device of varying brands.....

Thats because there are 2 different BT Audio profiles - headset and handsfree.
Nokia in their infanate wisdom decided to change the rules and introduce 'handsfree' probably to make us suckers buy their products 😉
The other manafactures soon cought up and amended their products to be compatable.

But you still need to be weary!

Well, I wouldn't be surprised since it came free with a T610, but I could have sworn it had the blue Nokia compatibility sticker on the box. I have access to a few other headsets, so hopefully I'll be able to nail it down soon...

With my Jabra BT200, when i't connected, the phone speaker itself will not ring. The same happens when i have connected the Stereo Headset that came in the box. The ringing can only be heard through the earphones or the BT headset. And I don't want to be wearing the headset all the time waiting for a call, I want to put it on and use it when i get a call. But if i have to wait for it to turn on and then for it to connect with the phone I have to wait for 10-15 seconds to be able to use it.

Could other users please tell me if their phones speaker rings when their headset/handsfree unit is connected?

Thanks a bunch

All the bluetooth headsets I've tried work that way.

It does not bother me - I just wear the headset all the time and look like a tos#er 😉

David, my n-gage still rings thru the loudspeaker even if the headphones are plugged-in. Maybe you need to have your firmware upgraded.
