any way of restoring the whole phone data (eg installed app, themes, games, etc) besides the phone book, calender?
i was thinking if we go for the updating of firmware, all data will be lost.
there must be an easier way of restoring the phone data. right?
please help...
There is an application on the phone to back up all the phone data to the memory card in a single file - then you can easily restore it after your upgrade.
Or you can backup using PC suite

You don t loose anything if you updating the firmware in 3650 7650 and 6600 i test it😊
i also asked around here in singapore. confirmed that firmware updating will erase all data and restore to default factory setting here.
pc suite has the function to backup and restore (even apps)???
i tot pc suite only backup contacts and calender only...
so can anyone confirm if pc suite can backup apps and restore?
thanks
You should see a tick box in your PC Suite backup options to select Calendaer & Contacts' or 'all data'
'all data' will backup the entire phone memory.
At least I bloody hope so!!!
Never needed to do a restore yet!
😊

merry x'mas!
Happy New Year!
Hi....i'm just a new comer here......by the way i've got a problem with my nokia 6600, always failed to send mms. I've been told that it was a bug that nokia did'nt admitt. Did anybody have the same case with me? Please let me know...
Oh, you mentioned about new firmware, is it possible for me to get it. If it is true that my phone have a bug, maybe it can be solved by updating the firmware.
Thanks a lot

The MMS issue isn't a bug. It's because your provider doesn't support WAP 2.0 devices.

It really depends on the service centre you go to. Every time you upgrade the firmware you lose everything, but some centres backup and restore the contents of the phone automatically, thus giving the impression that a firmware upgrade doesn't wipe your phone. Some (and most) service centres don't do this though, so unfortunately you will lose your data (unless you back it up yourself first).

Its in the 'memory' application. I am not sure in which folder its originally hiding sice I moved my apps around quite a bit.
In the memory application just choose Options/Backup phone mem. and there you go. The restore option is just next to it. 😊
HTH, Harry
I just got a replacement 6600 last weekend.
I backed up and restored the MMC card with a card reader.
I backed up and restored the phone with Nokia PC Suite.
Everything worked fine except the registered programs that required the IMEI. I have since contacted the developers of those programs, and all is now working fine 😃
I did initially attempt to restore everything with PC suite but it kept timing out the Bluetooth connection when restoring the MMC card.
A card reader is the best solution.

It's under Extras -> Memory -> Option -> Backup phone memory.
