I think it would be nice if we are able to run the java games and programs, meant for the series60 phones on the pc.
Is there a way to do this?

Yes,it would be nice,it would be even better if there is a Symbian OS emulator for PC in general, like there is one for Palm OS,but unfortunately there isn't 😞
yes, it is possible with gamemagic:
Nice!
nokia forum has emulator for series 60.
Its not meant for end users but for developers only. The SDK emulator won't run apps compiled for the ARM platform - the ones you use on the phone.

I was talking about native C++ applications, not java.
Yes, but the original question in this thread is about Java apps. 😉
Yes,i know but my post was directed at yejun who probably was referring to the Series 60 C++ emulator from the SDK after i said that it would be even nicer if we had an emulator for Native Symbian C++ apps.
BTW:I think we are really geting of track with this thread 😮
Ok guys,to sum up so far,so there is a program to run java apps on the pc.
But unfortunately it is for developers and doesnot support apps compiled for the ARM platform which are used in majority of programs run on the phones.
There is another program named gamemagic but we pay $19 something for it.(Maybe useful)
In other words, the only way to test the tons of .sis, .blz, .jar files avilable on the net is to copy and install each one by one on the phone and then remove the ones not needed.
I really hoped there was a program in which i could test all the files on my pc and then put the stuff I liked best on my phone.
Oh well then I guess there is not much we can do about it.
P.S.- Come to think of it, has this problem not been faced by anyone else. If so,please enlighten us on your experiance.
It seems there is a program called 'UnMakeSIS' to extract the sis files on the pc.
Get it here:

Thanks to atzplzw for coding the tool.
Why do i need to extract sis files on PC?

I don't know about you, but i use it to extract the sis files I get on the net.
Most of them are without any description. Some have mention on my-symbian.com,the others I extract and check the contents. Usually there is a screenshot or some file to gimme an idea what it is.
Then I test the app on my phone.
I am still looking for an good emulator of a s60 phone, will post if i get it.
If you download your applications from legit website like our online shop or my-symbian you would find that every application has a fairly good description so disassembling .sis files is not exactly needed.
Yeh man, I do download and sometimes buy from the online shops. In that case I already know what I am getting.
But there are some sites and other sources in which no info is given about the sis files that are present by hundreds. So instead of searching the whole www for its origin and info, i just unpack them on my pc. Usually I dont use these apps for too long, but if any program is really worth it I get the latest copy from the official site.
And I dont mind paying a few dollers to the guy who made it, if he really deserves it.
