Bug in phone deletes everything ???!

Hello!

A few days ago, my A920 reseted more often than usual (it just turns off, reboots and you have to enter your PIN again). But when it turned on again, all my settings, data, even screen calibration was gone!! Even the language (before I could choose between German and English) had changed to English only. It seems like it deleted all internal memory and performed a clean install. I did not perform any "master reset" or "master clear" from the control panel, nor did I try to flash the phone or something. 3 just offered to give me a new phone - but that doesn't give my data back! I need the Jotter file with personal notes, contacts, the Agenda etc.!!

It's unbelievable and very strange that an operating system just deletes everything without asking...
On a PC it's possible to rescue data from a formatted or even damaged harddisk. Is it possible with the internal memory used in the phone, too? Or is every bit overwritten? On the C: drive I found a file named "DiskhasbeenFormatted." but it's zero size.

I would be very happy about every clue you can give me. Has this happened before? Three told me, they have about one costumer a month who has the same problem. Is it a hardware fault? How can such a thing happen?

Thanks a lot for your help!!
werwohl

I believe it is caused in some cases by faulty power/voltage circuits. It used to happen in some other types of phones when using non-standard chargers or leaving the car charger attached when starting the engine.

If you are lucky the SD won't be affected, although this is slim. My advice is change the phone, as if it is faulty this could happen again! Did you take a back-up to your PC?

Not much help I know...

I have the same problem. I have restored my data from my PC, but I still can't switch back to German.

Please help me!!
