LCD display and dead pixels

I have one dead pixel on my 6600's display, and i can't take it back to the shop because it's very very far from me. So i went to a Nokia Centre but they told me that I can't have it replaced cause it's "just one dead pixel"!!!😱

Do you know if there are (or there will be) any societies that sell 6600's displays so i can replace it by myself?

thank you

On an LCD monitor it depends on manufacturer, but it's around 4 pixels having to go before they say the monitor is defective. But that's on a screen of 1280x1024, on a tiny phone screen, with considerable less pixels I would say even 1 pixel out is not good enough!

I'd be tempted to give them another go and say that 1 pixel is not acceptable to you.

How can i test if my screen has dead pixels.
Thanks in advance

You can see it/them .. mine is most visible on white screens

Note there are two ways for a pixel to be dead: 1) always on, and 2) always off.

To test for case 1, saturate the screen with all white image; some of the menus are substantially white.

To test for case 2, saturate the screen with all black image; this is easily done by activating the camera, and covering the lens.

(My phone has one bad pixel that is always on. This only is evident when I view dark photos.)
