what means NMEA?
i have some maps, but they dont work to 6600,
i need your help to tell me if they work to you.
thanks in advance

I could load them on to my phone but cannot use GPS coz I wont buy the GPS antenna until I know if tomtom uses NMEA, coz the one I want to buy requires the software to use NMEA.

I'm looking to buy th Holux GR-230.

you can ask tomtom about gps support,

i have seen also some other gps modules,
if you interested, i will find them again.

do u know if there is a greek map for tomtom citymaps?
as i have seen, tomtom doesnt support greek cities,
but the olympic games will be in athens, so its a "must have"
thing !!!!

if you want to see a city called e.g.:

"roma" you need:

1. citymaps application
2. roma map (add on) file

i hope i helped

From http://vancouver-webpages.com/peter/nmeafaq.txt :
"NMEA standard defines an electrical interface and data protocol for communications between marine instrumentation."

In many cases it defines how a non-GPS device (computer, PDA, phone, for example) connects to a GPS device.

well, apparently tomtom uses NMEA. ooohhhhhhhh, now I'm really considering getting the Holux. Just need to find full UK road map and if possible a Hong Kong map.

citymaps dont work with countries 😎
they are city-maps! there is kind of software for
communicators (tomtom route planner)
and i think that there are also some other companies
except tomtom for what u need
