It pairs ok, and you can use it for voice dialling and everything else, the problems is the battery life only lasts for a few hours, and sometimes the Jabra shuts off by itself.
Its the not the headset I think because I have tested this heaset with my P900 and it lasts for about 5 days (with just a few calls) without any hitches!
Has anyone experienced this?
Do you have your phone set so it 'clicks' when you press a key. Can't remember what it's called, but that drains the battery as it keeps the audio connection opn to the headset much more.
Try turning it off and see if it helps - I use the Jabra on my 3650 and like you say, it last for days!
Best
Will
really? the keypad tones also affect the battery life of the bt headset?
It's all to do with how Nokia handles bluetooth compared to Sony Ericsson. SE establishes the connection with the headset only during dialling, and disconnects when the call ends.
On the other hand, Nokia keeps the connection with the headset established all the time, in fact with Nokia you can hear the key clicks in the headset. BTW, please do not tell that you hadn't noticed that before...!!!
The way I fixed this is by creating a profile specifically for the bluetooth headset, with no key tones. I then configured the 6600 so that this profile is automatically activated when I switch on my bluetooth headset (Settings/Enhancement/Handsfree, and then select the custom-built profile).
Regards.
good suggestion sirox.
anyway, we tested the jabra headset on my 6600 with no keypad tone ( I don't turn them on at all coz I know it drains battery) and it only lasts for a few hours.
The keypad tone may affect the 6600's battery, but are you guys sure it will affect the headset also?
Bluetooth headsets consume battery during stand-by, but consume much more battery while connected to the phone, as this means keeping an active radio connection to the phone and exchange data continuously.
The key tones thing is about the Nokia phone requiring the headset to keep up a radio connection that drains both the phone's and headset's batteries.
With key tones off, this connection will stay off (well, it will stay in stand-by, consuming much less power on both devices), and will go on only during calls.
Remember, whenever you hear anything on the headset, it means that it's keeping an active radio connection, and that is what drains batteries.
thanks for the reply! ur problem is the battery runs out very fast and the keypad tones are off 😞 Is this the same for all bt headsets?
