I got some messages in the draft folder of my Nokia 6600 which refused to be deleted no matter how many times I pressed the delete options. Can anyone tell me what happened to the phone and how can I delete this stubborn messages?
Nokia 6600
I remember a 7650 user having a problem like that.I can't help you but maybe you should search the 7650 forum.
I'm having more undeletable messages in my N6600. Besides those that resides in my draft folder, this time I got some in my inbox and sent folder. If I buy a MMC card reader, can anyone please tell me how to locate and identify these stubborn files so I can delete them in my PC instead?
you dont need to buy a MMC reader. download a file explorer (trial) from epocware's -there is a banner above-. you'll locate and able to delete them.
of course i am talking about a pc software. you'll delete the files from your pc via bluetooth or irda.
I'll try it. Thanks for the help. And also for saving me money for the card reader.
I downloaded file explorer, use irda to connect to my N6600 and found the mail folder. Can somebody now advise me how to exactly locate the specific files in my inbox, draft, and sent folders so I can delete it in my PC? I'm afraid I will delete the wrong files and cause more problem to the phone. I don't know what's happening but I'm getting more undeletable messages. Please help!
am having the same prob. but mine is a .sis file that i cant delete.i tried the suggested solution too.But cant locate the right file.please Pm me when you have sution!
CHEERS!
Hikki, I guess our phones shares the same problems because they probably came from the same production batch. We both live in the Philippines & bought my N6600 early November at about the same time you bought yours. If help is not coming these few days, I guess I'll just reformat the MMC since my phone is now starting to slow down. I'm getting more undeletable messages which can't be opened or moved. I'll keep everyone posted with the results.
From what I read in your posts, you keep your messages on MMC. How do you do that?!?!?
My messages are clearly stored in RAM, not on the MMC, and I didn't see any option to keep them on MMC...
If I missed that option, I would recommend you to revert the setting and keep your messages in RAM, use MMC for additional programs and multimedia files, not for messages.
The N6600 has the option to keep your messages either in the phone or the MMC. You can do this by going to messaging/options/settings/other/mem in use. I am presently using the MMC for the messages. Since I cannot open, move or delete these stubborn messages, it will remain in the MMC even if I revert back to the phone memory. Best option I believe is to locate the file and delete it. Unfortunately, I can't locate it. Still hoping somebody out there could advice me the path of these files.
hey man i succesfully deleted it...i use Fexplorer an lokked through the mail folder just keep searching it and eventually i found the file and deleted it using Fexplorer then deleted it again at the inbox then restated the phone.
Succes!!!!
try it.thanks!
From a moderating point of view, please can you come up with more descriptive topic names in future? Calling a thread 'Nokia 6600' in a 'Nokia 6600' forum is hardly helpful.
Cheers.
